INTRODUCT ION 1.1. General Introduction VP - 792 is a very flexible image scaler developed specifically for d riving large screen di s pl ay s and multiple screen applications from v ideo or graphics sources.

VP - 792 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 2.1. Product Overview VP - 792 is designed to accept the follow ing input signals: YPbP r or RGBS SD and ED and HD com ponent v ideo via 3 o r 4 BNC connectors VGA .
2.2.5. Display Output A DVI-I connector is provide d which will support DVI outputs as well as HDMI 1.3 with 36-bit video and HD audio form ats when connected to a suitabl e HDMI 1.3 receiver. W hen the input signal has HDCP encry ption, the DVI-D output connector will carry a sim i larly HDCP encrypted signal.

3.2. Introduction The VP - 792 units have the input connectors on one side of the housing and the output connector and comm unication ports on the opposite side. T he k ey pad for controlling VP - 792 is located on the input connectors side. The active input is indi cated by th eir corresponding tria ngles lit green.
A factory reset can also be applied w hen pressing the factory reset key combination at power up. The keys have to be k ep t pres sed for about 10 seconds until the RG B (S) input LEDs stop flas hing.
3.3. Main M enu The m ain menu lists the input channel select item, 6 sub menus, and a menu item f or au tomatic setup of VGA m odes . The 6 sub m enus are Output, Color, Geom etry , Enhancement, System and Multiple Uni t (only VP - 792 and VP - 792 ).
3.5.2. Location Settings: Front Tabletop, Front Ceil ing, Rear Tabletop, Rear Ceili ng The im age can be flipped to accomm odate diff erent projection s cenarios as w ell as screens m ounte d upside down.
Otherwise it is di splay ed at 50Hz. A 25Hz i nput mode is output at twi ce the fram e rate 50Hz. An exception to the 24 and 25Hz input m od e treatment is if the output resolution is set to 480i or 480p. 480i and 480p a re alway s run at 60Hz output rate.
3.6. Color This m enu c on tains adjustm en ts associated with setting up inputs to the unit. Use the Up and D ow n keys to scroll to the requ ired item an d press th e Menu key. 3.6.1 . Black-Level Offset Availab le Settings: 0 IRE , 7.5 IRE Used to select 7.
3.7. Geometry This m enu contains adjustments assoc i ated with setting up position, aspect ratio and scale of the i nput signal . Scale can be as simple as an overscan up to arbitraril y warping th e image. 3.7.1 . Horizontal and Vertical Position Settings: in steps of 1 pixel and line Chang e the positional values to matc h the display boarders .
Crop preserves the aspect r ati o and scales the image to fit the screen. Dependant on the aspect ratio of the panel either the top and bottom or right and left areas of the image are cropped. Anamorphic s cal es the input im age such that i t is display ed with a 16:9 aspect ratio w hen display ed on the sc reen.
3. 8. Enhancement The enhancem ent menu provides image enhancement f unction s. Note that the enhancement settings apply to video input sign als only , not com puter graphi cs signals. 3.8.1. Sharpness Availab le settings: - 50 to 50 in steps of 1 Control of the sharpening enhan cement f il ters' lev els.
3. 9. System This s el ection contains functions which are m ore applicable to s y stem operation than to picture adjustm en t. 3.9.1. User Availab le settings: USER 1, 2, 3, 4 A predefined setting stored under a user nam e can be s el ected. Several s etti ngs of the VP - 792 can be stored under a user name.
Custom test patte rns loade d into the file s y stem of the unit through the W eb interfac e, can be accessed through the same m eans. The speed of the moving cross test pa ttern can be c hang ed. Also, the foregr ou nd and back ground color and the line width of the moving c ross test pa ttern can be changed in this menu.
In the Network Settings m enu is a subm enu Status Announce Setting. This feature is activated when Enable Status Announce is switched on. VP - 792 will then send messages out continuou sly through RS232 and TCP/IP to signal system condition. Server address and port of the PC where to send the mess age need to be entered.
3.10 . Multiple Un it The VP - 792 has a Multiple Unit menu for use in a multi screen application. Multiple screens are stitched together to provide a bigger display with higher r esol ution than a s ingle display . Each display is driven by a separate VP - 792 unit.
Note: Each VP - 792 uni t needs to be provided with the exact s ame value f or left an d right blend region. Top and bottom blend region have to be i dentical as w ell, but don´t need to ha ve the same v alue as left and right.
REMOT E CONTROL WEB SERVER 4.1. Introduction VP - 792 features a W eb server which connects to a PC W eb browser via T CP/IP. T he menu sy stem of VP - 792 is m irrored into the W eb browser and al l m enu items can be accessed and controlled through the keyboard or mouse of the PC.
4.4. Software Operation Once the address has been entered the W eb browser starts to load pages fr om the VP - 792 m irroring the m enu system of the unit. All menu item s are shown as their r espectiv e buttons, sliders and list boxes and can be accessed and altered with the PC mouse or corres po nding navi gational key press es.
