T ools and Materials Before Y ou Begin CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Long screws, for installing trim, can damage the K-2971-KS valve. When using this valve and trim in a fiberglass or acrylic installation, use the 88526 Thin W all Installation Kit.
1. Install the Spout Remove the temporary nipple. Apply thread sealant and install a 1/2 ″ nipple so it extends 7/16 ″ (1.1 cm) beyond the finished wall. Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the inlet end of the spout according to the manufactur er’s instructions.
2. Install the Showerhead NOTICE: Do not use thread sealant compound (pipe dope) on the shower arm threads. Instead, use thr ead sealant tape on the shower arm threads. This will avoid clogging the shower head spray outlets. Remove the temporary nipple from the shower elbow .
3. W ater T emperature Adjustment CAUTION: Risk of personal injury . T o eliminate the risk of scalding, the water temperature should never be set above 120°F (49°C). NOTE: Do not remove the O-ring and collar at this time. Removing the O-ring and collar will change the factory setting for the maximum water temperature.
4. Install the Faceplate and Handle Remove and discard the plaster guar d and/or dome, if installed. Rotate the valve stem fully counterclockwise to the ″ OFF ″ position. Install the faceplate onto the valve so the notch is to the bottom and secure with scr ews.

4. Installer le couvercle et la poignée Retirer et jeter le r enfort en plâtre et/ou dôme, s’il est installé. Pivoter la tige de la valve complètement vers la gauche à la position fermée ″ OFF ″ . Installer le couvercle sur la valve de manièr e à ce que l’encoche soit à la base et sécuriser avec des vis.

2. Instale la cabeza de ducha A VISO: No utilice compuesto sellador líquido de r oscas (pasta lubrificante) en las roscas del brazo de la ducha. En su lugar , aplique cinta selladora de roscas a las r oscas del brazo de ducha. Esto evitará que se tapen las salidas rociadoras de la cabeza de ducha.
3. Ajuste de la temperatura del agua PRECAUCIÓN: Riesgo de lesiones personales. Para eliminar el riesgo de quemaduras, la temperatura del agua nunca debe ajustarse a más de 120°F (49°C). NOT A: No retir e el arosello (O-ring) ni el collarín en este momento.
4. Instale la placa frontal y la manija Retire y deseche el pr otector de yeso y/o la cúpula, si están instalados. Gire la espiga de la válvula completamente a la izquier da, a la posición de cerrada. Instale la placa frontal sobr e la válvula, de manera que la muesca esté orientada hacia abajo, y fije con tornillos.
