6 Using the Printer Menu 1. Pr ess [Enter]. 2. Pr ess the up or down arro w to scro ll through the Categ ories, Items, and Va l u e s . 3. Press [Ent er] to select a Category , Item, or V alue to chang e or to select the new setting f or a V alue. 4. Press [ On Line] to exit the Menu.

9 5. Lift the toner release lever . 6. Hold the right end of the cartridge and carefully lift it out of the drum assembly . 7 . Clean the top of the image drum unit with a clean, lint- fr ee cloth. 8. R emo v e the ne w cartr idge from the bo x. 9 . R emo ve the wr apping a nd the adhesive tape fr om the cartridge.
10 13. Hold the center of the toner cartridge/image drum and low er it into the printer . Align the pegs on the drum assembly with the slots on the printer . 11. Ge ntly wipe the LED head with a lint-fr ee cloth. 12. Close the top co ver . 13. Place the old cartridge inside the packaging from the ne w cartridge.

12 Re pl a c i ng t h e I m ag e Dr u m The printer c ontains four image drums: cyan, mag enta, yello w , and black. 1. Mak e sur e that you hav e a sheet of paper on which to place the old imag e drum. 2. Open the top cov er . Caution! The fuser bec omes extremely hot during normal operation.
13 10. Car efully place the toner cartridge onto the new imag e drum as shown. 11. Press do wn the toner release lever . 12. Hold the center of the toner cartridge/image drum and low er it into the printer . Align the pegs on the assembly wit h the slots on the printer .
14 6. Remo ve the belt unit: a. T urn the two fasteners 90° to the left. b. Lift the handle of the bel t unit and r emov e it from the printer . 7 . Remo ve the new belt unit fr om its packaging. 8. Install the new belt unit: a. L ow er th e belt un it into the printer .
15 Re pl a c i ng t h e Fu se r The fuser is located inside the printer just behind the four image drums. 1. T urn off the printer . 2. W ait appro ximately 10 minutes for the fuser to cool. 3. Open the top cov er . Caution! The fuser bec omes extremely hot during normal operation.
16 Cleaning the LED Head W e r ecommend cleaning the LED head if the image ar ea: • is not clear •h a s w h i t e l i n e s 1. T urn off the printer . Caution! Do not use methyl alcohol or other solvents on the LED head. Damag e to the lens surface will occur .
17 Clearing P aper Jams When “P aper Jam” appears on the display , one or more sheets of print media are jammed in the printer . If one sheet is remo ved and ther e ar e still more sheets in the printer , the initial message will go a way tempor arily , then “P aper Jam” will appear again.
18 1. Mak e sur e that you hav e a sheet of paper on which to place the toner cartridge/image drum. 2. Open the top cov er . 3. If a sheet is advanced out of the top of the printer , gently pull the paper out. Caution! The fuser bec omes extremely hot during normal operation.
19 7 . T o rem ove a s he et j us t entering the fuser: a. Separ ate the trailing edge of the sheet from the belt. b. Mov e the paper r elease lev er for the fuser tow ard the front, and remov e the sheet. c. Release the lev er. 8. If the sheet is well advanc ed into the fuser: a.

Check that: • the pow er cord is c onnected. • the printer is turned on. • the USB cable or Ethernet cable is connected to the printer and the console.
