5 Prepar ation before In sta l latio n NOTE: TO A VOID DAMAGE TO YOUR HOOD, PREVENT DEBRIS FROM ENTERING THE VE NT OPENING. Decide the location of the venting p ipe f r om the hood to the outside. (Figure 1) A stra i ght, short vent run will allow the hood to perform more efficiently.
6 6. A lign the telescopic stack to the p r e-drill hole s on the ceiling a nd securely f asten t o the joists and cross f raming l umbe r with eight screws (not pro vided). M ake sure screws are driven in to center of joist s and cross framing lumber for maximum s upport.
7 11. Slide the inner duct cover up and secur e to the t elescopic s tack with f our (ST 3 x 15 ) screws (provided). Re f er to Figur e 7. 12. W i th assistance, slide the outer d uct cover to t he blo wer unit and ask assista nt t o hold steady until step 15 is completed.
