5 Electrical Requ irements Observe all gover ning codes a nd or dinances. Th e microwave oven is conne cted to a 110-volt side of the 240- volt circuit required for the lower oven. If t he incoming volt age to the microwave oven is les s than 110 volts, cooking times may be longer .
6 Crisper Pa n and Handle The crisp er p an is ideal for rapi dly br owni ng and cris ping t he bottom of foods, such as cookies and pizza. The material coat ing the bottom absorb s microwaves and transfers t he heat to the pan and food.
7 Dis pla y When power is first supplied to t he microwave oven, the time of day will fl ash on the disp lay . When the microwave oven is in use, the displa y shows cooking power , quan tities, weights and/or prompt s. When the microwave oven is not in use, the disp lay shows t he time of day or Timer countdow n.
8 MICROWAVE OVEN USE A magnetron in the microwave oven produces microwaves whic h reflect off the metal floor , walls and ceiling and pass through the turn table and appropriate cookware to the food.
9 T o T est Cookw ar e or Dinnerware for Microwave Use: 1. Place cookware or dinnerware in microwave oven with 1 cup (250 mL) of w ater beside it. 2. Cook at 100% cooking p ower for 1 minute. Do not use cookwar e or d innerwar e if i t becomes hot and th e water stays cool.
