6 For Non-V ented (recir culating) Installations If it is not possible to vent cooking fumes and vapors to the outside, the hood ca n be used in the non-vented (r ecirculating) version, using a Recir culation Kit (which includes char coal filters and a deflector).
7 3. Select a flat surface for assemblin g the range h ood. Place covering over that surface. 4. Using 2 or more people, lift range hood onto cover ed surface. Range Hood Mounting Scr ews Installation 5. Determine and mark the centerline on the wall where the canopy hood will be installed.
8 Connect V ent System 1. Install transition on top of hood (if removed for shipping) with 2 - 3.5 x 9.5 mm sheet metal screws. For vented installations only: 1. Fit vent system over transition piece. 2. Seal connection with cla mps. 3. Check that back draft dampers work properly .
9 4. Run home power supply wiring through ¹⁄₂ " strain relief into terminal box. 5. Use UL listed wire connectors and conne ct white wires (B) together .
10 RANGE HOOD USE The range hood is designed to re move smoke, cooking vapors and odors from the cooktop ar ea. For best results, start the hood before cooking and allow it to operate several minutes after the cooking is complete to clear all smoke and odors from the kitchen.
11 RANGE HOOD CARE Cleaning IMPORT ANT : Clean the hood and grease filters fr equently according to the following instructions. Replace grease filters before operating hood. Exterior Surfaces: T o avoid damage to the exterior surface , do not use steel wool or soap-filled scouring pads.

20 INSTRUCTIONS D'INSTALLATION Préparation de l'emplacement ■ Il est re commandé d'installer le circuit d' évacuation avant de procéd er à l'installation de la hotte.
21 Installation de la hotte 1. À deux personnes au moins, suspendre la hotte aux 2 vis de montage, à travers les encoc hes de montage à l’arr ière de la hotte. 2. Ôter le filtre à graisse. V oir la section “Entr etien de la hotte”. 3. Mettre la hotte de niveau et serrer les vis de montage supérieures.
22 Raccordement électrique 1. Déconnecter la source de courant électrique. 2. Ôter le couvercle de la boîte de connexion. 3. Ôter l’oper cule arrachable du boîtier de connex ion et installer un serr e-câble de ¹⁄₂ " (homologation UL ou CSA).
23 Achever l’installation 1. Pour les installations sans décharge à l’extérieur (recyclage) uniquement, installer les fi ltres à charbon sur la grille du logement du ventilateur . V oir la section “Entretien de la hotte”. 2. Installer les filtres métalliques.
24 ENTRETIEN DE LA HOTTE Nettoyage IMPORT ANT : Nettoyer fréquemment la hotte et les filtres à graisse en suivant les inst ructions suivantes. Réinst aller les filtres à graisse avant de faire fonctionner la hotte.
