Do not use abrasive cleansers or scourin g pads. Installing the W ater Filter Use of the water filter is strongly recommended.
10 K ITCHEN A ID ® C OFFEE M AKER U SE Brewing More Than 4 Cups of Coffee NOTE: Brew one pot of fresh, cool water and discard before brewing the first pot of coffee (first time use only). 1. Remove the water tank and fill with enough fresh, cool water to make the desired amount of cof fee.
11 7. Shake the brew basket slightly to even out the bed of cof fee. Place the basket into the coffee maker and r otate the handle toward the fr ont of the coffee maker to lock the brew basket in place. Be sure the br ew basket lid is fully closed before br ewing.
12 C OF FEE M AKER E NHANCED F EATUR E S Pause and Pour Feature The “Pause and Pour” featur e enables you to remove the carafe fr om the coffee make r and pour a cup of coffee befor e brewing is finished. When the carafe is r emoved, a special valve stops the flow of coffee fr om the brew basket.
13 C OF FEE M AKER C AR E Cleaning the Cof fee Maker 1. Remove the brew ba sket and carafe from the cof fee maker . 2. W a sh the bre w basket and Gold T one permanent filter in hot, soapy water and rinse with hot water . Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads.
14 T RO U B L E S H O O T I N G ■ If the brew timer dis play is not illuminated: Check to see whether the cof fee maker is plugged into a grounded 3-pr ong outlet. If it is, check the fuse or circuit breaker on the electrical circuit the coffee maker is connected to and make sure th e circuit is closed.

26 5. Insér er un filtre en pa pier à fond plat de 10 à 12 tas ses ou pl acer le filtre doré permanent dans le pa nier à infusion. Ne pas utiliser les deux types de filtres en même temps. Le fait d'utiliser les deux filtres en même temps pourrait entraîner le débordement de l'eau et du café par dessus le panier à infusion.
