8 1.4 Before You Begin In order to ensure that your build ing experience with the GX700 will be a p ositive one, please take note of the following : While working inside your GX700, ke ep your chassis on a flat, stabl e surface. Ma ke sure your build environment is clean, well-lit, and free of du st.
9 Section 2 Hardware Installation.
10 GX700 User Manual 2.1 Setting Up Put the case uprig ht on a flat, stable surface s o that the rear pan el (power sup ply and expansion sl ots) is facing you. To remove the l eft and right sid e panels, rem ove each of the two thu mbscrews, and then slide the side panel towards you.
11 2.2 Removing the Front Bezel You may need to re move the front bezel in order to install fans. To remove the bez el, place your hand in the n otch and pull the bezel towards yo u, starting from the bottom. You may encoun ter some resistance the firs t time you re move the bezel; this is normal.
12 The GX700 comes with motherboard s tandoffs (B in secti on 1.3). These are meant to be positi oned for Standard ATX, microATX or Mini-ITX motherb oards and can be reloca ted to accommoda te various form fac tors. 1. Lay the case down s o that the open sid e is up.
13 2. 4 Power Supply Installation 1. With the case uprig ht, place the p ower supply in the c ase and align the rear of the unit wi th the mounting holes.
14 Remove the met al drive bay cov er 2. 5 External 5.25” Device Installation 1. Remove the me tal drive bay cover b y unlocking the cli ck-on clasps 2.
15 Align and lock the drive bay tab on eith er side 3. Slide your 5.25 ” drive throug h the front of the cha ssis until it lines up flush with the fron t bezel . 4. Replace the dri ve bay tab th e by aligning its pins with the holes on your 5.25” drive , then lock i t into place by turn ing the locking mechanism t o the horizontal po sition.
16 2.6 Internal 3.5” Device Installation The GX700 includes 5 drive holders. You will need one for each 3.5 ” drive. 1. Insert three pins on the dri ve holder in to three holes on the side of your 3.5” drive. 2. Slightly bend the dri ve holder t o snap the driv e into place.
17 2. 7 Internal 2.5” D evic e Installation Each of the five 3. 5” drive bays also support 2. 5” drives : 1. Align your 2.5” dri ve with the holes of the drive holder 2. Secure your drive with the 2.5 ” scr ews provided (C in Section 1.3) 3.
18 Use the grommet-lin ed cable r outing holes to route PSU cab les. 2.8 Cable Managemen t There is a cable managemen t compartment bet ween the motherb oard and right side panel, as well as cable ties located on the back of the motherboard pa nel. You can tuc k excess ca bles in this compartment or r oute them to the drive ba ys.

20 GX700 User Manual 3 .1 Inc luded Fans The GX700 comes with two standard 140 mm fans and a rear 120 m m fan (yellow outline). The red rectangle s indicate additional fan mounts.
21 Slide the fan behind the fro nt plate Align bo th fans and screw them in 3 .2 Optional Fans The GX700 includes mounts for up to three more fans . These mounts ar e as follows: - Optional 2 x 120 mm.
22 Side 120 mm fans On the side panel, there is one m ount for a 120 m m intake fan . 1. Align your fan with th e screw hol es. The fan should be installed with air bl owing in to the case.
23 To remove the fr ont air filter: 1. Remove the four thu mbscrews and metal filter pan el 2. Push down on the tab on the filter and pull it away fr om the inside of the bezel. Remove four thu mbscrews Push down on the filter tab be fore atte mpting to pull it away.
24 The GX700 features a removable PSU filter. To remove the PSU filter: Remove the filter by pulling the tab toward you u sing the tab outside the chassis.
