2 Carbon Monoxide Overview Y our new Kidde carbon monoxide (CO) alarm is a sophisticated instrument that has been carefully designed and tested to assure accurate detection of CO build up in a residential environ ment. Y our Kidde is for use specifically in the home.
4 Remove the three enclosed AA batteries and install them into the battery well. Carefully place the r ed battery warning flags into the battery well. Observe the battery polarity markings at the bottom of the battery well. When the batteries are first installed, the unit will beep once and the red alarm light will flash.

T est/Reset Button The test/reset button is used to test the unit’s electronics and to r eset the unit during alarm (see figure 3) . •T est the unit - T o test, pr ess and release the test/reset button, you should hear one short beep – followed by 5 seconds of silence – followed by 4 short beeps with a corresponding r ed LED flash.
