Quick Start Gui de Loading your MP3 Player 1) I f you are using Wind ows 2000 or Windows 98 SE or Windows ME, pl ease insert the Driver CD int o your computer ’ s CD drive and run t he in stalla tion application. If you are usi n g W indows XP , pr oceed to Step 2 as no dr iver installation is r equired.

Main menu Y ou can enter a m enu by press i ng the “Mode” (M) button. Each menu has furt her submenus that allow you to perform various operations (play music, record, c hange system s etti ng, etc). T o escape to th e Main menu from any subme nu, press and hold the Mod e button.
Player Functi ons Music Playback 1) Select th e Music mode m enu and press the “M ode” button. 2) T o play the s elected file, press the “Pl ay” bu tton. 3) T o brows e o ther files , press the “Prev” or “Next” buttons. If a file is alread y playing, p ressing “Prev” o r “Next” w ill s tart the next music fil e.
Playing Mod e submenu Y ou can choos e different playing mode wh ile playing music or m usic fi le s such as repeating and s huffling, or set Equa lizer settings, or playback tem po . Repeat 1) Start the Music mode and p la y a music fi le. 2) Press “Mode” to open the Playing Mode submenu.
Replay (A - B) This function lets you set and repeat a particu lar sec ti on of a music file or recording. 1) Play a music file 2) Press “Mode” to enter Playing Mode submen u. 3) Press “Next” to highlight the Replay item and press “Mode. ” 4) The display will M usic mode and t he A in the A-B icon ( ) wi ll b e f lashing.
Voice Recordin g The player suppo rts st oring 9 9 t ext files in each directory . Pleas e make sure the power is eno ugh when recording. 1) Select th e R ecording mode fr om the Main menu 2) Press “Mode” to enter the R eco rding mode. 3) Press “P l ay” to start recording.
Recording Play back 1) From the Ma in menu, h i ghlight the reco rding mode, and press “Mode ” to enter Re cording Playback mode. 2) T o play t he selected file, press t he “Play” button. 3) T o browse other files, p ress the “P rev” or “Next” buttons.
Use FM radi o From the Main menu, hi ghlight the FM mode, and press “Mode” to en ter FM mode. Autom a ticall y Seek ing Press “Prev”/“Next” for two seconds and the p la yer seeks forward or downward in 100KHz increments, and stops at the next station.

Backlig ht Time 1) Enter th e S ystem Sett ing menu from the Ma in menu. 2) Select Backlight Time and press “Mode” to enter the sl i der contro l. 3) Press “N ext” to increase an d “Prev” to decrease the backlig ht time. 4) Press “Mode” to exit 1.
Replay Sets the replay mod e to manual or automatic. Contrast The contrast slider sets the LCD contrast. Onlin e mode Sets the drive mod e when c onnected to a PC.
Phonebook 1) From the Ma in menu, h i ghlight the reco rding mode, and press “Mode ” to enter Phonebook mod e. 2) T o vi ew the s ele cted co ntact, press the “Pl ay ” button. Press the “Prev ” or “Next” buttons to scroll through t he information.
6) T o de l ete a record , select the name f ield of the record and p re ss delete. 7) T o modify a record, select t he n ame field of the record a nd mod ify the information in t he fields at the top. Click Add to save your changes. 8) T o export t he list as a text file for use in other programs, click Export.
Text Reading 1) From the Main men u, selec t T ext, a nd press “Mode” t o ente r the T ext submenu. 2) Dir Select: Choose the d irectory . The player s upports the root l evel and one folder level. The player recognizes up t o 9 fo ld ers, b ut does not rec ognize folders nested within o ther folde rs.
USB Mode The player is the s tandard US B disk t hat s upports Windows 2000/XP , Mac OS 10.3 or above, L inux R edhat 8.0 or above. Windows 98 is also s upported but req uires d river installation. Th e player supp orts the Suspend mode . The player displays the fol lowing icons after connect ing PC: 1.
Firmware Upgr ading 1) From the Ma in menu, select System Sett i ngs, a nd press “M ode” to enter th e System submenu. 2) Press “N ext” to scroll to Firmware Upgr ade, a nd press “Mode. ” 3) Connec t the player to your computer us ing a USB cable.
Other settings Organizin g your files Y ou can plac e differ ent fi les into different di rectories in order to p lay and manage the files selectively . The player supports the root level and o ne folder level. The player recognizes up t o 9 folders, but do es not recognize folders nested w ithin other fo l ders.
Encrypted Disk This player includes s oftware on the Dri ver CD to part ition its disk sp ace into two drives – one drive for MP3 fil es and a seco n d driv e th at is e ncrypted to keep any data private. I t is only available to users with W indows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later (including W i ndows XP ).
