3 About discs This sy stem has been d esigned t o pl ay back the following discs: D VD VIDEO, DVD A UD IO, V ideo CD (VCD), Super V ideo CD (SVCD), Audio CD (CD), CD-R and CD-R W . • This sys tem accommoda tes the P A L system, and also can play discs recorded with NTSC system.
About discs 4 Notes on CD-R and CD-RW • User-edited CD-Rs (Recordable) an d CD-R Ws (Rewritable) can be playe d back onl y if they are already “finali zed”. • When m akin g yo ur own dis c, sele ct IS O 966 0 Level 1 or Level 2 for the disc format.

Basic operations 14 On the remote control: Press one of the source selec ting buttons (DVD, FM/AM , AUX or TV SOUND). DV D : T o play bac k a disc (DVD VIDEO, VCD etc.). (See page 16 .)
