13 Getting started English Getting star ted Connections *In the following description, “TV” may be substituted with “monitor” or “projector .” *Before using the unit , you have to connect the un it to a TV and/ or amplifier . • Do not connect the AC power cord until all other connections have been made.
Getting started 14 Getting started Y ou can enjoy high picture quality by connecting the unit ’ s COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks to the COMPONENT VIDEO IN jacks of your TV with the video cables. Note that the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks are not active in the initial (factory preset) condition.
Getting started 15 Getting started English Y o u can enjoy high-quality audio by connecting the unit's audio output t o your amplifier or receiver . • Connect the unit's AUDIO OUT to any l ine-level inputs (such as AU X, DVD, CD, etc.) of an audi o amplifier or rec eiver .
Getting started 16 Getting started When all the audio/vi deo connections have bee n made, insert the smaller plug of the supplied AC power cord to the unit ’ s AC IN connector , then insert the other end to the wall outlet. Make sure that plugs are inserted firmly .

Advanced operations 21 Advanced operations English When “ NEXT ” or “ PREVIOUS ” appears on the TV screen, the unit generally works as follows: • Pressing ¢ advances to the next page. • Pressing 4 returns to the previous page. * The method of th e operation is different depending on the disc.
Advanced operations 22 Advanced operations If the current title of a DVD VIDEO disc being played is divided into chapters, you c an skip to a desired chapter by specifying the chapter number using the on-screen display . 7 During DVD VIDEO playback 1 Press PLA Y M ODE.

35 MP3 CD playback English MP3 CD playback This unit can palyback CD discs recorded by the MP3 format (we refer to those discs as MP3 CD discs in this manual). Operations for MP3 CD discs are similar to those for Audio CD discs, though there are some restrictions and differences.
MP3 CD playback 36 MP3 CD playback * Y ou can skip a T rack across a Group. i.e. pressing ¢ when the last T rack of the current Group is selected skips to the first T rack of the next Group. While stopped, you can select a Group to be played using the numeri c buttons.
MP3 CD playback 37 MP3 CD playback English 3 Specify the groups in the desired order using the numeric buttons. See page 11 for details about how to us e the numeric buttons. Up to 18 groups can be programmed. Y ou may select the same grou p more than once.
