Model 57i IP Phone User Guide 3 Introduction Requirements The 57i IP Phone requires the following environment: • SIP-based IP PBX system or network installed and running with a SIP account created for the 57i phone.
4 Model 57i IP Phone User Guide Getting Started Getting Started The 57i must be set up and be configured prio r to its first use. Th is section describes phone behavior and start up screens you may se e when the phone is first plugg ed in, or when it is restarted.
Model 57i IP Phone User Guide 5 Getting Started The 57i phone then checks se ttings and looks for new c onfiguration and firmware updates for the phone from a server . If a new update is found, the phone displays the message “ Updating Configuration ”.
6 Model 57i IP Phone User Guide Getting Started If language packs were loaded to your phone by your System Administrator , the following screen displays during startup. When the configuration update is co mplete, the phone disp lays the following screens and then displays the Idle screen.

The ACD feature allows the Sylan tro server to distribute calls from a queue to registered IP p hone users (agents).

The DCP/GC P feature allows you to intercep t - or pickup - a call o n a monitored extension.

Model 57i IP Phone User Guide 83 Line Keys and Softkeys XML Key The 57i IP phone has a feature you can enable called " XML " (Extensible Markup Language). XML is a markup language much like HTML. Y our System Administrator can create cu stomized XML menu services and load them to your IP phone.

For example, if the sprecode value of *82 is configured, then by pressing the key , *82 automatically activates a service provided by the server .

The foll owing table provides the values you enter for the " Park Call " and " Pickup Park ed Call " fields in the Aa stra W eb UI.
