– 9 – English Common Operations Setting the Clock Before operating the unit any further , first set the clock b uilt in this unit. • As you plug in the A C power cord, the clock starts counting from “0:00. ” On the r emote control ONL Y : 1 Pr ess and hold SHIFT during the setting pr ocedure.
– 10 – English Adjusting the V olume Y ou can adjust the v olume level only while the unit is tur ned on. T urn V OLUME clockwise to increase the v olume or counterclockwise to decrease it. When using the remote control, press VOLUME + to increase the v olume or press V OLUME – to decrease it.
– 11 – English Listening to FM and AM Broadcasts T uning in a Station 1 Press FM/AM. The unit automatically turns on and tunes in the previously tuned station (either FM or AM). • Each time you press the button, the band alternates between FM and AM.

T o exit from pro gram play mode Press PLA Y MODE on the remote control repeatedly until all the CD play mode indicator goes of f from the display . • The program you ha ve made is stored in memory until you erase the program.
– 15 – English REPEA T Repeating T racks or CDs — Repeat Play Y ou can hav e all the CDs, the program or the indi vidual track currently playing repeat as many times as you like. T o repeat play , press REPEA T during or before playing. T o use Repeat play for Program play and Random play , press the button after starting playback.
– 16 – English Special Plays for Video CDs Y ou can use the follo wing special plays for video CDs both with and without PBC function. T o play Still- and Frame-by-Frame pictures Press 8 STILL on the remote control during playback. When you press the b utton, playback pauses and a still picture is shown on the TV screen.
– 17 – English CD 6 6 6 6 6 SELECT When “SELECT XX” appears on the TV screen, pressing this button jumps to the selected picture or program. – 18 – English T o play Video CDs without Using Menu Screen Y ou can cancel the PBC function and play the disc without using menu screen. 1 T urn on the TV and select the video input so that y ou can view the pictures fr om the Unit. Refer also to the manual supplied for your TV .
– 19 – English Y ou can play back type I, type II and type IV tapes without changing any settings. Playing Back a T ape 1 Pr ess EJECT ( 0 ) for the deck y ou want to use. 2 Put a cassette in, with the exposed part of the tape down. 3 Close the cassette holder gently .
– 20 – English T o find the beginning of the next song During play , press 4 / ¢ ( 1 or ¡ on the remote control) in the same direction as the tape play . The tape direction indicator of the same direction as the tape play starts flashing slo wly and quickly alternately .
