2 ENGLISH How to forcibly eject a disc If a disc cannot be recognized by the unit or cannot be ejected, ejects the disc as follows. “PLEASE” and “EJECT” appear alternately on the display. • If this does not work, reset your unit. • Be careful not to drop the disc when it ejects.
3 ENGLISH WARNINGS: • DO NOT install any unit in locations where; – it may obstruct the steering wheel and gearshift lever operations, as this may result in a traffic accident. – it may obstruct the operation of safety devices such as air bags, as this may result in a fatal accident.

6 ENGLISH Introduction — Playable discs Discs you can play You can play back the following discs (12 cm and 8 cm) on this unit: • DVD V id e o : Recorded in either PAL or NTSC color system with Region Code “ 3 ” (see below). – DVD-R/DVD-RW recorded in the DVD- Video format can also be played (see page 46).

8 ENGLISH Remote controller — RM-RK230 Installing the lithium coin battery (CR2025) Before using the remote controller: • Aim the remote controller directly at the remote sensor on the unit. Make sure there is no obstacle in between. • Do not expose the remote sensor to strong light (direct sunlight or artificial lighting).

12 ENGLISH To tune in to a station manually In step ! on the left column... 1 2 Select the desired station frequencies. Radio operations Listening to the radio ~ Ÿ Selected band appears. Lights up when receiving an FM stereo broadcast with sufficient signal strength.
13 ENGLISH When an FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive 1 2 Lights up when monaural mode is activated. Reception improves, but stereo effect will be lost. To restore the stereo effect, repeat the same procedure. “ MONO OFF ” appears and the MO indicator goes off.

32 ENGLISH Listening with headphones By connecting headphones to the 2nd AUDIO OUT plug on the rear, you can listen to the playback sound through the DVD/CD player while listening to another source through the speakers. You can activate Dual Zone while listening to any source.

47 ENGLISH To be continued.... • Do not use the following DVD-R/DVD-RW or CD-R/CD-RW: – Discs with stickers, labels, or protective seal stuck to the surface. – Discs on which labels can be directly printed by an ink jet printer. Using these discs under high temperatures or high humidities may cause malfunctions or damages to discs.
48 ENGLISH • While playing (or pausing), you cannot change these languages. After you change any of these language settings, eject the disc and insert it (or another disc) again so that your setting takes effect.
