8 Y our recorder needs to memorise all necessary stations in preset positions in order to record TV programmes. A TS+ (Auto T uning System) automatically assigns all receivable stations in your area to call them up with the TV PROG. buttons without going through any vacant channels.
9 Clock Set If you performed Auto Channel Set ( Z pg. 8) without ever having set the clock previously , the recorder ’s built-in clock is also set automatically . The Auto and Manual clock setting procedures are necessary when . . . – a power outage of more than 3 minutes occurs.

11 PLA YBACK Basic Playback The easiest, most basic operation possible with your video recorder is tape playback. Already-recorded signals on a video tape are read by your video recorder and displayed on your TV just like a TV programme.

20 TV signals being received by the recorder ’ s built-in tuner can be recorded onto a video tape. You can “capture” a TV programme using your video recorder . 21 B.E.S.T . Picture System The B.E.S.T . (Biconditional Equalised Signal T racking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is “ON”.

26 TIMER RECORDING Information On V ideo Plus+ W ith V ideo Plus+, timer programming is greatly simplified because each TV programme has a corresponding code number which your recorder is able to recognise. NOTE: “Guide Channel” (GUIDE CH) refers to the assigned TV station numbers, according to broadcast area, for V ideo Plus+ timer recording.
27 THE SA TELLITE RECEIVER IS SHOWN CONNECTED TO THE “A V2 IN” (SCAR T) CONNECTOR AND THE CABLE SYSTEM CONNECTED VIA THE AERIAL SOCKET AND TUNED T O, FOR EXAMPLE, PRESET POSITION 5 ON YOUR TV .
28 Video Plus+ Timer Recording During V ideo Plus+ and regular timer programming, the Illumi- Guide feature tells you which button on the remote control must be pressed next by lighting it up. T o use this feature, press ILLUMI GUIDE before performing step 1 .
29 ACCESS VIDEO PLUS+ PROGRAM SCREEN 3 Press OK , and the V ideo Plus+ Program screen appears (if you’re just starting out, “Program 1” appears). ● If the number you entered is invalid, “ERROR” appears. Press CANCEL and input a valid PlusCode number .
30 Regular Timer Pr ogramming If you don’ t know the PlusCode number for the programme you wish to record, use the following procedure to set your recorder to timer-record the programme. Or you can use the Illumi-Guide feature, where the remote control tells you which button to press next by lighting it up.
31 ENTER PROGRAMME STOP TIME 4 Press STOP +/– to enter the time you want recording to stop. ● If you are using the Illumi-Guide feature, the following buttons remain lit: ST ART +/– , STOP +/– , DA TE +/– , and TV PROG +/– . ENTER PROGRAMME DA TE 5 Press DA TE +/– .

Check And Cancel Pr ogrammes Timer W arning If you have programmed your recorder to timer -record a programme or a series of programmes, a warning appears on screen to tell you that the record- ing is to start in 5 minutes. NOTES: ● The warning only appears if you’re not in the T imer mode at that time.
33 Auto SP/LP Timer If, when recording in SP mode, there is not enough tape to record the entire programme, the recorder automatically switches to LP mode to allow complete recording.
