6 V ideo Channel Set V ideo Channel (RF Output Channel) is the channel on which your TV receives picture and sound signals from the video recorder through the RF cable.

8 Auto Set Up Auto Channel Set/Auto Clock Set/Auto Guide Program Number Set The Auto Set Up function sets the tuner channels, clock and V ideo Plus+ assigned Guide Program numbers automatically when the button on the recorder/remote is first pressed to power on the recorder after you plug the mains power cord into a mains outlet.
9 Auto Set Up results appear on the display panel ● When both auto channel set and auto clock set have been completed successfully the correct current time will be displayed. ● When auto channel set has been completed successfully but auto clock set has not, "CH" will be displayed.
10 V ideo Plus+ Setup W ith V ideo Plus+, timer programming is greatly simplified because each TV programme has a corresponding code number which your recorder is able to recognise. NOTE: “Guide Program (GUIDE PROG) number" refers to the assigned TV station numbers, according to broadcast area, for V ideo Plus+ timer recording.
11 When Using A Satellite Receiver And/Or Cable System THE SA TELLITE RECEIVER IS SHOWN CONNECTED TO THE “A V2 IN” (SCAR T) CONNECTOR AND THE CABLE SYSTEM CONNECTED VIA THE AERIAL SOCKET AND TUNED T O, FOR EXAMPLE, PRESET POSITION 6 ON YOUR TV .
12 PLA YBACK Basic Playback The easiest, most basic operation possible with your video recorder is tape playback. Already-recorded signals on a video tape are read by your video recorder and displayed on your TV just like a TV programme.

15 Instant ReView Simply by pressing a single button, the recorder power comes on, rewinds, and begins playback of the last timer -recorded programme. If you have several programmes recorded, you can easily access any of them. NOTE: Before starting, make sure that the recorder is off and that the T imer mode is disengaged.
16 PLA YBACK (cont.) Soundtrack Selection Y our video recorder is capable of recording three soundtracks (HI-FI L, HI-FI R and NORM) and will play back the one you select.
17 ACTIV A TE SCENE FINDER 1 Press SCENE FINDER . The recorder starts forward search for 5 seconds and then fast-forwards 10 minutes on the counter. This cycle is repeated until the end of the tape is reached. ● T o start Scene Finder in the reverse direction, press SCENE FINDER and then press the REW button within 2 seconds.

22 B.E.S.T . Picture System The B.E.S.T . (Biconditional Equalised Signal T racking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is “ON”.

24 Video Plus+ Timer Recording ACCESS TIMER PROGRAMMING SCREEN 1 Press PROG The front display panel looks like this: ENTER PLUSCODE NUMBER 2 Press the NUMBER keys to enter the PlusCode number of a programme you wish to record. ● If you make a mistake, press CANCEL to backspace and then input the correct number .
25 SET T APE SPEED 4 Press SP/LP ( ) to set the tape speed. RETURN TO NORMAL SCREEN 5 Press OK . ● Repeat steps 1 – 5 for each additional programme. ENGAGE RECORDER’S TIMER MODE 6 Press TIMER . The recorder turns off automatically . NOTE: T o Delay The Stop T ime .
26 Regular Timer Pr ogramming If you don’ t know the PlusCode number for the programme you wish to record, use the following procedure to set your recorder to timer-record the programme. Remember , the clock must be set before you can progamme the timer ( Z pg.
27 ENTER PRESET POSITION 6 Press TV PROG +/– . IMPORT ANT Be sure to confirm the setting of PDC recording. ● If " ON" is displayed on the screen or " " is lit on the display panel, PDC is set to ON. ● If " OFF" is displayed on the screen o r " " is not lit on the display panel, PDC is set to OFF .
28 Check And Cancel Programmes ACCESS PROGRAMME DISPLA Y AND/OR SCREEN 1 Press PROG CHECK. ● The display panel shows the programme start time. Pressing OK changes the display to the programme stop time, then the date and preset position.
29 Auto SP/LP Timer If, when recording in SP mode, there is not enough tape to record the entire programme, the recorder automatically switches to LP mode to allow complete recording. ENGAGE AUTO SP/LP TIMER 1 Press AUTO SP/LP TIMER on the recorder front panel.

37 Receiving NICAM Stereo And Bilingual Pr ogrammes Y our recorder is equipped with a Digital stereo sound decoder (NICAM), making reception of stereo and bilingual broadcasts possible. When the recorder is tuned to a different station, the type of broadcast being received will be displayed on the TV screen for a few seconds.
