12 English Prep aration NOTE • This system supports up to HDMI version 1.0. The HDMI video signal type can be checked with the “HDMI” indicator in the display window .

19 English Basic operations If no sound is produced for 3 minutes, the main unit automatically turns off. This function is ava ilable when a disc/file i s selected as the source. English Introduction 3 Y ou can pla y back video, audio and still picture files stored on your com puter by settin g up the net- work with the computer and the ma in unit. Y ou must in stall CyberLink Media Server from the bundled CD-ROM to your computer .
4 English Introduction Set up the system following the flow chart shown below . The procedure for setting up the system dif fers depending on your usage environment. NOTE • T o connect the main unit to the computer d irectly , refe r to “Connecting the main unit to th e computer di rectly” on page 19.
5 English Introduction Set up your compu ter and network envi ronment as follows. Y ou must install CyberLink Media Server from the bundled CD-ROM to your compu ter for playing back files stored on the computer with this system.
6 English Connection This part explains the procedure for connecting the main unit to the comp uter via a router with an Ethernet cable an d confi rming that the connection is completed properly . NOTE • Before following this procedure, connect the main unit, speakers and a TV referring to the main volume of the o peration manual for this system.
7 English Inst alling CyberLink Media Server The example TV and computer screenshots used in this manual may differ from the actual screen displays. CyberLink Media Server is a software application for sending video, audi o and still picture files stored on your comput er to the main unit.
8 English Inst alling CyberLink Media Server This part explains the procedure for sel ecting the default folders (“My Videos”, “My Pictures” and “My Music”) as examples. (On the computer) 1 Double-click the “CyberLink Me dia- Server” icon on the desktop.
9 English Confirming the connection t o the computer This part explains how to start CyberLink Media Server for the first time and how to perform the fol- lowing. • Confirming that the main unit recognizes the computer . (On the remote control) 1 Press [ F AUDIO] to turn on the main unit.
10 English Confirming the conne ction to the computer If “CyberLink Media Server” is not displayed The main unit may not dete ct the CyberLink Media Server for any of the following reasons. Determine the reason by referring to A and B shown below .
11 English Setting up the IP address Y ou can skip this part when the main unit and the computer are connected to a router that uses DHCP functi on. Y ou must assig n the IP address to the main unit manually in th e following cases.
12 English Setting up the IP address 2 Click “Network and Internet Con- nections”. NOTE • Depending on the computer settings, the “Con- trol Panel” dialog box is displayed as shown below . In this case, double-click the “Network Conne c- tions” icon and then proceed to step 4.

Y ou can pla y back video files and still picture files with almost the same procedure. NOTE • S tore fi les you want to play back in the shared folders before proceeding.

Y ou can add a shared folder , by 1) storing the desired folder in one of the default folde rs, and then 2) selecting the desired folder usi ng Cyber- Link Medi a Server .
