6 Place of storage and use Av oid stor ing or using this VCR in the following places: ● Excessively hot or cold places beyond the al- lowab le temperature for operation (5˚C – 40˚C). ● Humid or dr y places bey ond the allowable humidity range for operation (30% – 80% RH).
7 Regular maintenance This unit uses consumables or components that will w ear off . If a wor n-out or deteriorated compo- nent continues to be used, it ma y cause the unit to break down. T o prev ent this, perf or m routine maintenance using the head-cleaning tape.
8 REC SAVE Cleaning tape Use a JVC cleaning tape. F ollow the instructions below for using the clean- ing tape. 1. Run the tape for 10 seconds in the PLA Y mode. (Thereafter , it stops automaticall y and enters the ST OP mode .) • After loading the cleaning tape, press the PLA Y button.
9 Condensation • When this unit is mov ed from a cold to a warm place abruptly , the vapor in the warm air will come into contact with the head drum or the tape guides, which are not warmed enough. When chilled, the vapor turns into droplets of w ater .
10 3 Operation buttons [A. DUB] Audio dubbing b utton/LED • Press this button f or audio dubbing (after-re- cording). F or audio dubbing, set A UDIO MODE in the A UDIO MENU screen to “32K”. The sound produced by the MIC terminal # or the A UDIO IN ter minal is recorded on chan- nels CH3 and CH4.
11 [PLA Y] button/LED • Press this button to start playing bac k a tape. During playbac k, the green LED lights up . • When recording is paused, press this button to resume recording. • When audio dubbing is paused, press this b utton to resume audio dubbing.
12 4 [REMO TE/LOCAL] switch This s witch is used to select how BR-D V6000 is to be operated. LOCAL : Use this setting if BR-D V6000 is to be controlled with the ke y operation of the unit.
13 7 [A UDIO MONIT OR] switch Use this s witch to select the audio channel for output signals from the headphone terminal and the A UDIO MONITOR terminal located on the rear panel. The output signal of the A UDIO MONITOR OUT terminal is monaural. L :F or outputting the sound of CH1.
14 0 [REC LEVEL] V olume for audio recording le vel for CH1/3 and CH2/4 Use the switch to adjust the audio recording le vel f or CH1 and CH2. During audio dubbing, the audio recording lev el f or CH3 and CH4 can be adjusted with this s witch. ! [PHONES] terminal This is the mini jack terminal for connecting to the headphone.
15 [SEARCH–/ ; ] button • During nor mal displa y , the function of this but- ton can be selected using “ ; , : ” KEY FUNC in the SYSTEM (1/2) Menu screen. If it is set to V AR, the searching speed de- creases if this button is pressed during a search operation.
16 NAMES AND FUNCTIONS OF P ARTS – Rear panel – 1 [VIDEO LINE IN] terminal (BNC) This is the input terminal for composite video signals. •T o input video via this terminal, set the IN- PUT SELECT s witch located on the front panel to “LINE”.
17 8 [SYNC IN] synchr onization input terminal (BNC) This is the terminal for inputting ref erence syn- chronization signals from an e xter nal source. F or external synchronization signals, input com- posite video signals of 1V (p-p) or lower (e .g., b lac k burst signal).
18 ^ DC power input terminal (2-PIN) This terminal is for inputting DC 12 V . Connect the DC power cord of the supplied A C adapter . & [SIGNAL GND] terminal This is the grounding terminal for signals . * DC power cor d clamp Use this clamp to fasten the DC po wer cord.
19 ¤ [SERIAL REMO TE OUT] terminal (mini jac k) • This terminal is for direct through-output of serial commands of the serial remote input terminal. (Only with OPERA TE ON) • If REPLICA TION of the SYSTEM (2/2) Menu screen is set to SERIAL, this terminal out- puts REC commands when BR-D V6000 be- gins playbac k.
20 Besides E-E images and playbac k images, the monitor connected to the VIDEO MONITOR OUT terminal provides the follo wing on-screen inf ormation. Press the DISPLA Y button to displa y the same inf ormation on the LCD screen of BR-D V6000.
