3 Prepar ation 1 Confirm which remote control you have Y our TV comes with one of the three remote contr ols shown belo w . F unctions you can operate differ depending on the type of r emote control.
4 Prepar ation 3 Connecting the aerial and VCR •R ead the manuals provided with the de vices. Depending on the de vice , the connection method may be differ ent from the diagrams . Also the device settings ma y need to change depending on the connection method.
5 Prepar ation 4 Connecting other devices If you ar e not connecting any other de vices, skip step 4 and perform step 5. • Use the headphones with a stereo mini jack (3.5 mm in diameter). When y ou connect the headphones, the TV speak ers go off. • The OUTPUT terminal outputs the video and sound signals which you ar e viewing on the TV .
6 Prepar ation 6 SETUP TOUR When the TV is first turned on, it enter s the SETUP T OUR mode, and the JVC logo is display ed. F ollow the instructions on the on-screen displa y to perform the SETUP T OUR. • In case of resetting that the r eason for such as remo val, you can set the A UT O CH PRESET function on the “MENU 3” menu.

8 MUTING button Y ou can turn the sound off instantly . Press this button. To turn the sound on, press this button again. BASS button < AV -2 1V33 1/A V -25V33 1/A V -29V33 1 only > Y ou can enjoy a pow erful bass sound by using the B ASS (Bass R eflex) function.
9 CINEMA SURROUND button < AV -2 1V3 1 1/A V -2 1V33 1/A V -2 1W3 1 1/ AV -25V3 1 1/A V -25V33 1/A V -29V3 1 1/ AV -29V33 1 only > Y ou can enjoy an enhanced sound for a wider audience by using CINEMA SURR OUND function. Press this button to select one of the CINEMA SURROUND mode.
10 PICTURE MODE button Y ou can select one of three picture adjustment settings as you lik e . Press this button to select a mode. BRIGHT : Heightens contrast and sharpness . ST ANDARD: Standardizes pictur e adjustments. SOFT : Softens contrast and sharpness .
11 CHANNEL SCAN button Y ou can quickly view all TV channels progr ammes that you can vie w on your TV , and search for the pr ogramme y ou w ant to vie w . 1 Press this button to start scanning TV channels. The TV channel progr ammes are each display ed for sev eral seconds .
12 3 Basic operation 1 Press the MENU T buttons. One of the 6 menus is display ed. MENU 1 INPUT TV VNR ON COMPRESS(16:9) ON PICTURE TILT 00 SELECT BY EXIT BY OPERATE BY -+ D I SPL AY 2 Repeatedly press the MENU T buttons to display a desired menu. • If you hold do wn the y button, the next menu is display ed.
13 INPUT Y ou can view images from VCRs or other devices connected to y our TV . 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 1” menu, then select “INPUT”. MENU 1 INPUT TV VNR ON COMPRESS(16:9) ON PICTURE TILT 00 SELECT BY EXIT BY OPERATE BY -+ D I SPL AY 2 Press CHANNEL –/+ or MENU / to select “VIDEO-1”, “VIDEO-2” or “VIDEO-3”.
14 AUTO SHUTOFF Y ou can set your TV to turn off if no signals are r eceived for about 15 minutes or longer after the end of a broadcast. 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 2” menu, then select “AUTO SHUTOFF”.
15 Using the TV’ s menus AUTO CH PRESET Y ou can automatically preset all TV channels that can be receiv ed by y our TV to channels. 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 3” menu, then select “AUTO CH PRESET”.
16 MANUAL CH PRESET Y ou can manually preset desired TV channels to desired channels . 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 3” menu, then select “MANUAL CH PRESET”. 17 SKIP Y ou can set undesired channels to be skipped. Channels set to be skipped cannot be selected by the CHANNEL m buttons or the CHANNEL SC AN button. • Channels to which TV channels hav e not been preset ar e automatically set to be skipped. 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 3” menu, then select “MANUAL CH PRESET”.
18 AI VOLUME Y ou can prev ent the sudden increase or decrease of v olume that occurs when changing channels or switching VIDEO modes. 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 5” menu, then select “AI VOLUME”.
19 Using the TV’ s menus VIDEO SETTING Y ou can set PICTURE MODE, VNR and PICTURE EFFECT functions for VIDEO mode using VIDEO SETTING menu. 1 Press MENU T to display the “MENU 6” menu, then select “VIDEO SETTING”.
20 1 Place the unit on top of the TV making sure that the mounting pin on the bottom of the unit fits into the mounting hole on the top of the TV . • When you mount the unit, mak e sure that the mounting pin fits properly into the mounting hole . Otherwise, it ma y slide off the top of the TV .

22 Using the buttons on the TV Basic operation Check to make sur e the CHILD LOCK function is set to “ OFF ”. When the CHILD LOCK function is set to “ ON ”, the TV cannot be operated using the front contr ol buttons. F or details, see “CHILD LOCK” on page 14.
23 Tr oubleshooting If there is no pictur e or the TV does not operate normally , make sur e the problem isn’t due to the reasons indicated belo w . If the problem per sists ev en after taking the measures indicated, please contact a service technician.
