3 Prepar ation 1 Confirm which remote control you have Y our TV comes with one of the two remote contr ols shown below . Functions y ou can operate differ depending on the type of r emote control.

Depending on the device , the connection method may be differ ent from the diagrams . Also the device settings may need to change depending on the connection method.
5 Prepar ation 4 Connecting other devices If you ar e not connecting any other devices , skip step 4 and perform step 5. • Use the headphones with a stereo mini jack (3.5 mm in diameter). When y ou connect the headphones, the TV speak ers go off. • The OUTPUT terminal outputs the video and sound signals which you ar e viewing on the TV .
6 Prepar ation 6 Initial setting When the TV is first turned on, it enter s the initial setting mode , and the JVC logo is display ed. F ollow the instructions on the on-scr een display to perform the initial settings. 1 Press the Main power button on the TV .
7 Basic operation • The illustration belo w is for the remote control RM-C1 0 19 supplied with L33 and W33 series models. Y our remote control may not look e x- actly like the illustr ations.
8 BASS button < A V -2 1W33B/A V -25L33B/A V -29W33B only > Y ou can enjoy a pow erful bass sound by using the SUPER B ASS (Bass R eflex) function. Press this button to turn the SUPER BASS function on or off. • To use this function, you must fir st mount the T win P ort Bass Blaster Unit packaged with the TV on top of the TV .
9 Remote control buttons and functions CHANNEL SCAN button Y ou can quickly vie w all TV channels progr ams that you can vie w on your TV , and search for the pr ogram you w ant to view . 1 Press this button to start scanning TV channels. The TV channel progr ams are each displayed for se veral seconds .

11 Using the TV ’ s menus INPUT Y ou can view images from VCRs or other devices connected to y our TV . 1 Press MENU T to display the “ MENU 1 ” menu, then select “ INPUT ” . 2 Press MENU / to select the “ VIDEO-1 ” , “ VIDEO-2 ” or “ VIDEO-3 ” mode.
12 Using the TV ’ s menus BLUE BACK Y ou can mute the sound and change the picture into a blue scr een while no signals are r eceived b y the TV , or when the signals are unstable . 1 Press MENU T to display the “ MENU 2 ” menu, then select “ BLUE BACK ” .
13 Using the TV ’ s menus VIDEO-2 SET Set the VIDEO-2 SET correctly accor ding to the video signal input from the e xternal device connected to the VIDEO-2 terminal. If this setting is incorrect, images will not be display ed. 1 Press MENU T to display the “ MENU 2 ” menu, then select “ VIDEO-2 SET ” .
14 Using the TV ’ s menus CHANNEL SKIP Y ou can set undesired channels to be skipped. Channels set to be skipped cannot be selected by the CHANNEL m buttons nor the CHANNEL SC AN button. 1 Press MENU T to display the “ MENU 3 ” menu, then select “ CHANNEL SKIP ” .

16 Attaching the T win P ort Bass Blaster Unit <A V -2 1W33B/A V -25L33B/A V -29W33B only> The T win Port Bass Blaster Unit is packaged together with the TV . Before y ou use the TV , mount the unit correctly on the TV . Note: • The SUPER B ASS functions do not work unless the T win P ort Bass Blaster Unit is connected correctly to the TV .

18 Basic operation • Check to make sur e the CHILD LOCK function is set to “ OFF ” . When the CHILD LOCK function is set to “ ON ” , the TV cannot be operated using the front control buttons . F or details, see “ CHILD LOCK ” on page 12.
