Please follow the flow char t below to deter mine which connection setup is right for you. Then, refer to the appropr iate diagrams to connect your television to other devices that you may hav e. After you are finished connecting your devices, plug the power cord into the nearest power outlet and tur n on the TV .
12 Notes: • If your VCR is a mono sound unit, it will hav e only one audio out jack. Connect it to the TV’ s LEFT A UDIO INPUT . • Use the S-Video connection if possible for superior picture quality . • Y our VCR must be tur ned on to view premium cable channels.
Notes: • Green, blue and red are the most common colors for D VD cables . Some models may vary colors. Please consult the user’s manual for your D VD player f or more information. • Be careful not to confuse the red D VD cable with the red audio cable.
1) Connect a yellow composite cable from the camcorder VIDEO OUT , into the VIDEO IN on the front of the TV . 2) Connect a white composite cable from the camcorder LEFT AUDIO OUT , into the LEFT A UDIO IN on the front of the TV . 3) Connect a red composite cable from the camcorder RIGHT AUDIO OUT , into the RIGHT A UDIO IN on the front of the TV .
When you turn your television on for the first time the interactive plug-in menu will appear. The plug-in menu helps you to get your TV ready to use by letting you set your pref erences for: • The language in which you want the onscreen menus to appear.
T o set your clock manually (without using the XDS signal), choose MANUAL. 17 In auto tuner setup, the TV automatically scans through all availab le channels, memor izing the active ones and skipping over blank ones or channels with weak signals. This means when you scan (using the C HANNEL +/– buttons) y ou will receive only clear , active channels.
Y ou can program your remote to operate your cable box, satellite receiver , VCR or D VD play er by using the instructions and codes listed below . If the equipment does not respond to any of the codes listed below or to the code search function, use the remote control supplied by the manuf acturer.
The remote control is programmed with VCR codes for power on/off, play , stop, fast-f orward, rewind, pause, record, channel up/down operation. 1) Find the VCR brand from the list of codes shown below . 2) Slide the first 2-wa y selector switch to “TV” and the other 2-way selector switch to “VCR”.
The remote control is programmed with D VD codes for power on/off, play , stop , fast-f orward, rewind, previous/ne xt chapter , tra y open/close, and still/pause operation. 1) Find the D VD pla yer brand from the list of codes shown below . 2) Slide the first 2-wa y selector switch to “TV” and the other 2-way selector switch to “D VD”.

T o bring up the onscreen menu , press the M ENU button on the remote control. The item that appears in yellow is the one currently selected. If you press the M ENU button again, the onscreen display will skip to the ne xt menu screen.

U.S. P ARENT AL RA TING SYSTEMS Programs with the following ratings are appropriate for children. TV Y is Appropriate for All Children Programs are created for ver y young view ers and should be suitable for all ages, including children ages 2 - 6.
28 Line up the cursor in the column (TV PG, TV G, etc.) with the content row (V/FV , S, etc.) and press the π or † to move the cursor to the correct location. Press √ or ® to tur n the locking feature on or off. An item is locked if the icon appears instead of a “—”.
Initial Setup NR – Not Rated This is a film which has no rating. In many cases these films were impor ted from countries which do not use the MP AA ratings system. Other NR films ma y be from amateur producers who didn’t intend to hav e their film widely released.

Channel guard and V -Chip settings are protected by a four-digit lock code. Y our TV comes preset with a lock code of “0000”. Y ou may change the code to any four-digit number you wish.

MTS technology allows sev eral audio signals to be broadcast at once, giving you a choice in what you wish to hear with a TV program. In addition to mono or stereo sound, an MTS broadcast may also include a second audio program (SAP) .

The on/off timer lets you program your television to tur n itself on or off. Y ou can use it as an alarm to wake up, to help you remember impor tant programs, or as a decoy when you’ re not home.

Button Functions 44 The S OUND button give you a choice of two sound effects. A.H.S . - Adds a more spacious surround sound. Music gives basic effect and Movie for more effect. Button Functions 45 The TheaterPro D6500K color temperature technology function makes sure that the video you watch is set to the standard color temperature.
