Notes: • Green, blue and red are the most common colors for D VD cables. Some models ma y vary colors. Please consult the user’ s manual f or your D VD play er for more inf or mation. • Be careful not to confuse the red D VD cab le with the red audio cable.

T o bring up the onscreen menu , press the M EN U button on the remote control. The item that appears in yello w is the one currently selected. If you press the M ENU button again, the onscreen display will skip to the ne xt menu screen.

Initial Setup ❒ NR – Not Rated This is a film which has no rating. In many cases these films w ere impor ted from countr ies which do not use the MP AA r atings system. Other NR films ma y be from amateur producers who didn’t intend to hav e their film widely released.

MTS technology allo ws sev eral audio signals to be broadcast at once, giving you a choice in what you wish to hear with a TV program. In addition to mono or stereo sound, an MTS broadcast ma y also include a second audio program (SAP) .
Cloc k/Timer s 30 Set Clock Before y ou use any of your TV’ s timer functions, y ou must first set the clock. Y ou may precisely set your cloc k using the XDS time signal broadcast by most public broadcasting stations. If you do not hav e this in your area, you will ha ve to set the clock man ually .
The on/off timer lets you progr am your television to turn itself on or off . Y ou can use it as an alarm to wake up , to help you remember impor tant programs , or as a decoy when you’ re not home.

Button Functions 33 The R ETURN + button has two functions: Return - Returns to the channel viewed just bef ore the channel currently onscreen. Return+ - Lets you program a specific channel to return to while scanning through the channels using the CH+ and CH– buttons .
The V IDEO S T A TUS b utton gives y ou a choice of four TV picture display settings , including a display of y our own pref erences. ST ANDARD - Resets the picture displa y to the factory settings. D YNAMIC - Heightens contrast. SPORTS - When y ou watch a spor ts program.
