10 NOTCH C U T AND FE LLING THE TREE S Make notc h cut by c utting the top of the notch firs t. C ut through 1/3 of the diameter of the tree. Nex t c omplete the notc h by c ut- ting the bot tom of the not ch. See illus tra- tion. Onc e the notch is cut remov e the notch of wood fr om the tree.
