4 S Mix and pour fuel in an outdoor area on bare ground; store fuel in a cool, dry , well venti - lated place; and use an approved, marked container for all fuel purposes. Wipe up all fuel spills b efor e star ting saw . S Mo ve at least 10 feet (3 m eters) from f uel- ing sit e before start ing engine.

10 NOTCH CUT AND F ELLING THE TREE S Make notch cut by cutting t he top of t he notch fi rst. Cut t hrough 1/3 of the diamet er of the t ree. Next complete the notch by c ut- ting the bottom of the notch. See illustra- tion. Once t he notch is cut remov e the notch of wood from the tree.
11 S Roll the log over and finish with a sec ond overcut . S Give spec ial at tention to logs under strain to prevent the s aw from pinc hing. Mak e the first cut on the pressur e sid e to relieve the stres s on the log. BUCKING USING A LOG OR SUP - PORT STAND S Remember your first cut is alway s on the pressure side of t he log.
