6 Ve n t i n g M e t h o d s Common v e nting method s are shown fo r a counter -mounted downdraft cooktop. The c oo k to p may be vented through the wall or floor .
7 Calculating V ent System Length T o calculate the l eng t h of the system you need, add the equivalent feet (meters) for each vent piece used in the system. Example vent system NOTE: Flexible vent is n o t r ecommended. Flexible vent creates back pr essure and air turbulence th at greatly reduce perf ormance.
8 Befor e Y ou Make the Electrical Connection: T o pr operly install your cook t o p, you must determine the type of electrical connection you will be using and follow the instructions provided for it her e. ■ A 4-wire or 3-wire, singl e pha se, 120/240 volt, 60 H z .
9 T o rotate b lower: 1. Locate the four plastic plugs in the plenum bypass. 2. Use the pliers to remove the plastic plugs. IMPOR T ANT : Do not th r ow away the plastic plugs. The plas tic plugs must be reinstalled after the blower exhaust scroll has been rotated.
10 Instal l Cooktop 1. Using 2 or more people, place cook top r i ght si de up into t he cutout. NOTE: Ma ke sure that the fro n t edg e of the cooktop is parallel to the fr ont edge of the cou nt er top. If repositioning is needed, lift entire cooktop up from the cutout to avoid scr atching the countertop.
