7 V enting Requirements ■ V ent s ystem must terminate to the outdoo rs. ■ Do not terminat e the vent sys tem in an attic or other encl osed area. ■ Do not use 4" (10.2 c m) laundry-ty pe wall caps . ■ Use metal vent o nly . Ri gid metal ve nt is rec ommended.
8 Electr ic al Require ments Observe all gover ning codes a nd ordinances. Ensure that th e electric al instal lation is ad equate and in conformance with Na tional Elect rical Code, ANSI/NFP A 70 (latest edition), or CSA Standards C22 .1-94, Cana dian Electric al Code, Part 1 and C22.
9 Optional D uct Cover Installation 1. Attach the full-width duct cover to th e top of the range hood with th e screws p rovided wi th duct cove rs. The duct cove r must be attached to the top of the range hood before mounting the range hood to the wall.
10 4. Align moun ting holes an d install 5 - 6 x 16 mm scr ews. 5. Attach pow er cor d connector to conn ector on wire box on blower motor mou nting plate. Mak e Electr ic al Connection 1. Disconn ect power . 2. Locate junction box inside of the range hood.
11 4. Use UL listed wi re connectors and connect w hite wires (A) together . 5. Connect green (or bare) ground wi re from home p ower supply to the green/yellow gr ound wir e (D) in termina l box using UL listed wire connectors. 6. Instal l terminal box cover .
12 RANGE HOOD CARE Range Hood Lamps Replacin g a Halogen Lamp T ur n of f the range hood and allow the halogen lamp to cool. T o avoid da mage or decre a sing th e life of the new bul b, do not touch bulb with bare fingers. Replace bul b, using tis sue or wearing cotton gloves to handle bulb.

23 Installation ave c cache-con duit facultative 1. Fixer le ca che-conduit pl eine largeur au somme t de la hotte à l'aide des vis four nies ave c le cache-con duit. Le cach e- condui t doit être fi xé au sommet de la hotte avant de fixer la hotte au mur .
24 3. Pousser vers le haut l'extré mité droite de la plaq ue montage et enclencher dans le compensateur à ressort. REMARQUE : Le compensateu r à ressort doit êtr e à l'extéri eur de la fente da ns la plaqu e de montage. 4. Align er les tr ous de mon tage et inse rrer le s 5 vis de 6 x 16 mm.
