2 Keep area around appliance clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and materials. If appliance is installed near a window, proper precautions should be taken to prevent curtains from blowing over burners. NEVER leave any items on the cooktop.
Do not let cooking grease or other flammable materials accumulate in or near the appliance, hood or vent fan. Clean hood frequently to prevent grease from accumulating on hood or filter. When flaming foods under the hood, turn the fan on. NEVER wear garments made of flammable material or loose fitting or long-sleeved apparel while cooking.
Suggested Cooking Guidelines Surf ace Contr ol K nobs Use to turn on the surface burners. An infinite choice of heat settings is avail- able from LOW to HIGH. At the HIGH setting a detent or notch may be felt. The size and type of cookware, type and amount of food and BTU of the burner will determine where to set the knob for cooking operations.
• A properly adjusted burner with clean ports will light within a few seconds. If using natural gas, the flame will be blue with a deeper blue inner cone. • If the burner flame is yellow or is noisy, the air/gas mixture may be incorrect. Contact a service technician to adjust.
C AUTI O N • Be sure appliance is off and all parts are cool before handling or cleaning. This is to avoid damage and possible burns. • To prevent staining or discoloration, clean appliance after each use. • If a part is removed, be sure it is correctly replaced.

C UI S S O N SU R LA S U R F AC E Commandes de la surf ace de cuisson La taille et le type d’ustensile, le type et la quantité d’aliments et la puissance du brûleur en BTU permettront de déterminer à quelle position il faut régler le bouton pour les différents types de cuisson.
• Un brûleur convenablement réglé et dont les orifices sont propres s’allume en quelques secondes. Lors de l’alimentation au gaz naturel les flammes sont bleues, avec un cône interne bleu intense. • Si les flammes d’un brûleur sont jaunes ou si la combustion est bruyante, le ratio air/gaz peut être incorrect.
Grilles des brûleurs • Laisser les grilles des brûleurs refroidiment. • Laver les grilles avec de l’eau savonneuse tiède et un tampon à récurer en plastique non abrasif.
Un brûleur de surface ne s’allume pas. • Vérifier que la fiche de branchement est correctement insérée dans la prise de courant. • Inspecter/réarmer le disjoncteur. Inspecter/remplacer les fusibles. • Contrôler la source d’alimentation électrique.
