– 2 – – 2 – 1. Read Instructions. All the safety an d operatin g instru ction s should be read bef ore th e produ ct is operated . 2. Retain Instructions. Th e safety and oper ating in struc- tion s should be r etained for future r eferen ce. 3.
– 3 – Placement • As a gener al rule, bass response incr eases as a subw oofer is placed closer to a wall. Ther efore , bass output is maximized when the subw oofer is placed in a corner . • It is also recommended that the subw oofer be positioned along the same wall as the fr ont loudspeaker s.
– 4 – 2) If your receiv er/amplifier has subw oofer outputs or preamp output jack s for the left, center and right channels, or left and right only . If your receiver/amplifi er has a single (m ono) sub- woofer output or LFE out- put, you may conn ect the output to either th e Left, Righ t or Center line-level input on the subwoo fer .
– 5 – 4) If your receiv er/ampli- fier has preamp output jacks and main input jacks f or the left, center and right channels, or you hav e a separate preamp/pr ocessor and pow er amplifier . This meth od of hookup can offer th e highest level o f perform ance for your complete loudspeak er system.
– 6 – Oper ation Power When th e unit is plugged in and power is on an d no sign al is received , the LED on the fron t of the unit will turn r ed. When a si gnal is presen t, the LED will turn green. N ote: It will tak e several minutes for th e LED to turn from green to red after th e input signal to the subwoo fer is removed .
– 7 – The phase con trol determin es wheth er the subwoofer speaker’s piston-lik e action moves in an d out with the main speak ers, 0 ° , or opposite the m ain speakers, 180 ° . Th ere is no corr ect or incorrect set- ting. Pr oper phase adjustment depen ds on several variables such as subwoo fer placement and listen er position.
