2 1 Getting Started Introduction Congratulations on purchasing the Digital SuperPro 640 camera. W ith the Digital SuperPro 640 camera you can take your photos and see the results within minutes. There is no need for film and no need to get your photos developed and printed at service bureaus.

4 Typical uses for your Digital SuperPro 640 camera Here is a typical scenario of what you might do with your Digital SuperPro 640 camera: 1 Load your batteries. Load 4 AAA batteries. See page 7 . 2 Turn on your camera. Push the Power button. See page 7 .

7 Loading batteries Digital SuperPro 640 uses 4 standard AAA batteries . To load the batteries 1 Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the camera. 2 Press the cover down and push it sideways, in the direction of the arrow.
8 LCD character display The Digital SuperPro 640 comes equipped with a Liquid Crystal Display ( LCD ) that displays important information. The LCD display window is located on the back of the camera on the left side. It displays information about: • The number of photos that you have taken with the camera.
9 3 Taking photos Taking photos with the Digital SuperPro 640 is easy and fun. To take a photo 1 Make sure that the camera is turned on. 2 Position the subject in the View find er . 3 To ensure accurate focus, make sure that the subject is at least three feet (one meter) away.
10 To delete photos from the camera’s memory 1 Press the Flash and Self Timer button simultaneously and hold for 3 seconds. 2 After 3 seconds the LCD display shows two dashes ( - - ). The dashes indicate that the camera’s memory has been cleared. 3 Release the Flash and Self Timer button.
11 Recharging the flash The flash may need time to recharge between photos. When the flash is ready, the Flash display light on the back of the camera glows orange. If the Flash display is not lit, wait a few moments for the flash to recharge . Self Timer The Digital SuperPro 640 is equipped with a 10 second Self Timer .
4 Transferring photos to the computer There is no film in your Digital SuperPro 640 camera. You access the photos by connecting the camera to your PC and transferring the photos to the PC. This is also known as importing or downloading the photos. Your Digital SuperPro 640 camera comes with IXLA software to help you import photos to your computer.

14 5 Camera maintenance and safety Tips for camera maintenance and safety • To avoid damaging your Digital SuperPro 640 , do not expose it to extremes of heat or cold. Avoid leaving it in the sun for prolonged periods. • Never wrap up the Digital SuperPro 640 while it is turned on.
15 6 Tips and troubleshooting Monitor adjustment To make sure that your photos l ook their best you may need to adjust your monitor to 16-bit color or higher. To adjust the monitor 1 Click the Windows Start button. 2 Click Settings and then Control Panel from the pop-up menus.
16 Troubleshooting If you have a problem operating your camera, read this section first. If you still cannot find the solution, contact our support desk at techsup@ixla.com . The camera has no power. Possible Cause Solution The camera is turned off. Hold down the Power button until the Power light displays.
17 The flash does not work. Possible Cause Solution The flash is turned off. Toggle the flash button to the Flash On mode. The flash is still recharging Wait for the flash to recharge. When it is ready, the Flash display light glows orange. The photo is blurred .
18 You cannot connect the serial cable to the computer’s COM port. Possible Cause Solution Your computer’s COM port outlet and the cable attachment plug are of different sizes. See your computer parts supplier for an adaptor. You cannot import photos from your camera.
19 Error Messages If an error occurs with your camera, the LCD will display an error message. Display Error What to do FL The memory is full. Delete the photos in the camera’s memory according to the instructions on page 9 . rS System reset. An unexpected error has occurred.
