14 Installation of Hard Drive Step. 7 Attach the hard drive into the hard driv e brack et. Screw the f our screws into the drive brac ket that were provided with the hard drive. Mak e sure you take all the necesssary steps to avoid ESD (electric static discharge).
15 Installation of Hard Drive Step. 8 Attach the signal cable to the hard drive connector of the hard drive with brack et attached. Attach the power cable to the hard drive in the po were sock et. Attach the brac ket with drive attached into the enclosure and seat ov er the base plate.

17 Installation of Hard Drive Step. 10 Place side cov er on enclosure and secure by sliding in f orward direction. Replace screw in side panel in bottom edge.
18 Inser t the IOGEAR Installation CD into your computer’ s CDR OM tr ay (It is not necessary to install this driver under Window 2000, ME, and XP). Installation of ION Drive Software Select “ION” in My Computer. Double clic k “ION” driver .
19 Step. 4 Click “Ne xt” on Installation Wizard screen. (Contin ued) Step. 5 W e recommend to choose “Complete” when prompted how to install. Step. 6 After the installation, you will be ab le to find the hard drive in My Computer after y ou turn on the pow er of ION.
20 1 2 Note: Bef ore you begin, please make sure that the power to the de vice and your computer has been turned off. Step 1. Plug the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 cable with T ype A connector into the back of the ION™ Driv e Step 2.
21 1 Step 3. Plug the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable (T ype A Connector) into the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Port (T ype A Slot) located on the back of y our computer in the PCI Card Ba ys. Step 4. Plug power into y our power stri p Step 5. Once complete, T ur n the ION™ Drive and your computer on.
22 Before y ou unplug the ION drive, clic k on the green arro w on the lower right cor ner of the Window . A message of [safely Remov e…] will appear, clic k on this message to remov e the device.
