Before y ou begin, make sure that the pow er to all the devices you will be connecting up hav e been turned off . NO TE: T o prev ent damage to your installation due to ground potential difference , mak e sure that all de vices on the installation are proper ly g rounded.
Step. 2 Installation 9 Plug the USB, video , and speak er connectors of the attached KVM cables into their respectiv e por ts on the computers you are installing. 34 Operation 10 Hotkey Operation The hotk ey operations of the KVM assume the use of a PC-Compatible ke yboard with the Scroll Lock key . If you are using a MA C K eyboard (or a ke yboard that does no.
Operation 11 P ort Switching T o toggle betw een the two computers , quickly tap the Scroll Lock ke y twice: [Scroll Lock], [Scroll Lock] NO TE: Y ou can change this hotke y to [ctr l] [ctrl], see page 17 fo r details.
Operation 12 The KVM will now enter Hotke y mode, and the Caps Lock and Scroll Loc k LEDs flash in succession to indicate this. On PC-Compatible ke yboards this LED is usually located on top right-hand cor ner .
Operation T o Inv oke Hotkey Mode (MAC Keyboar d): 1. Press and hold Clear key for two seconds 2. Press and hold Minus ke y [ – ] ke y for one second 3. Release Minus ke y [ – ] and within one second also release Clear key The KVM will now enter Hotke y mode; indicated by b linking of the Caps Locks LED .

NO TE: If using the Num Loc k and Minus k e y to inv oke Hotke y function is not optimal, ref er to the next page for instructions on changing the hotke y inv ocation keys. When Hotke y Mode is active, ordinary ke yboard and mouse functions are suspended – only Hotke y compliant ke ystrokes can be input.
