Overview Bluetooth™ is a low-power wireless networking standard which uses short radio waves to allow electronic devices to communicate with each other without using cab les . The following applications are supported by Bluetooth™ technology: • Synchronize your Bluetooth™ PDA with your computer.
Bluetooth™ technology is suppor ted under the f ollowing operating systems. • Windows 98SE (Client only) • Windows ME (Client only) • Windows 2000 • Windows XP • Mac OS X 10.

System Requirement: • Notebook or desktop computers, with P entium - Class PC, 200 Mhz CPU or higher , 128MB RAM or higher , and with at least one USB port • Mac OS 10.
Introduction IOGEAR ® ’ s Wireless Bluetooth™ to USB Adapter allows any computer with USB connections to become a Bluetooth™ enabled computer . It complies with Bluetooth 1.1 and USB 1.1 specifications, and provides users with a 723 Kbps data transfer r ate.
Make sure that the IOGEAR ® Bluetooth™ Adapter is NO T plugged into the USB port of the computer. With the computer turned on and Windows ® 2000, or XP running (The suppor t f or 98SE and ME is limited), insert the IOGEAR ® Bluetooth™ Installation CD into the CD-ROM driv e.
Click the [Ne xt] button to accept the def ault destination installation folder or clic k the [Change] to choose the different installation f older . Installation The License Agreement screen will appear . Click the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click [Next].

A Driver Signature Notice ma y appear . Click the [OK] Button to continue the installation. 11 Installation 6. During the installation a “Bluetooth™ de vice not found” window will appear . Please connect your USB Bluetooth de vice and clic k OK.
Installation 12 Once the installation is complete, click the [Finish] button to complete the wizard. At this point, we recommend that you reboot the system.
Now doub le click the Bluetooth™ icon in the system tra y . This will star t the “Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard. ” 13 Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard 1. Once the Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard has started, click [Next] 2.
14 Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard Next, enter a unique name f or this computer . This name will be display ed to other Bluetooth™ devices . Select a computer type from the drop-down menu and clic k [Next]. 3. Click ne xt to configure the services this computer will offer to other Bluetooth™ devices .
Choose the services that this computer will offer to other Bluetooth™ de vices b y placing a check in the bo x. T o display the proper ties, click on the configure button. Click [Ne xt] to proceed. 15 5. Windows will install the software f or the services you selected.
16 Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard Once Windows has finished installing the software, the f ollowing window will appear . This window will allow you to configure y our computer to use the service of another Bluetooth™ Device . If you do not ha v e an y de vices y ou wish to connect to at this time, clic k [Skip] and proceed to step 15.
17 9. Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard The window will display the services av ailab le through the selected Bluetooth™ device . Check the box ne xt to the ser vice you want to access . 10. After you f ound the de vice , you will need to P air your computer with the de vice y ou wish to connect to .
Once you check the bo x next to the ser vice you wish to connect to , a properties window will appear. Click [OK] to continue . 18 11. Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard Next, clic k [Finish] to proceed.
A window will appear advising y ou that a shor tcut has been placed on the My Bluetooth™ Places screen. Clic k [OK] to close the window . 19 13. If you hav e another Bluetooth™ de vice and you w ant to configure to allow , this computer to use its services, click [Ne xt].
Once all Bluetooth™ client drivers have been installed, click [Finish] , and y our computer will be ready and Bluetooth™ - enabled. 20 15. Initial Bluetooth™ Configuration Wizard.

Under normal circumstances, you will not need to re-install driv ers f or your IOGEAR ® Bluetooth™ USB adapter; how ev er , the need ma y arise if your hard drive is f ormated. T o re-install the dr iv ers, please f ollo w steps 1-13 in the installation section.

24 Operation The name of the computer will appear in the list. Double clic k on the de vice to displa y its list of services. 3. Once the Network Access service is displayed, double click on the Netw ork Access icon to connect.
25 Operation After your Bluetooth™ enabled de vice has been authenticated; your de vice will be ab le to share that computer’ s Internet connection (if the device has Internet access) and files. If a pass key has been set by either de vice , the pass k ey is required to connect both Bluetooth™ enabled devices .
How to connect to a Bluetooth ™ Enab led Printer 1. Double-clic k on the IOGEAR ® Bluetooth™ icon in the system tra y . Double clic k on “Find Bluetooth™ De vices”.

How to add Bluetooth ™ to your Mac Operation IMPORT ANT INFORMA TION TO MA C OX S USERS: Please mak e sure y our computer is up to date with the latest patches for Mac OS X V ersion 10.2 and g reater from Apple. Enabling Bluetooth™ on your Mac is simple.
What is “Pairing ?” Pairing is a Bluetooth™ function that enables Bluetooth™ devices to remain permanently linked to another. What “Pairing” means in terms of security? The Pass Key authentication is perpetuated in Pairing, meaning that devices will not ask for a Pass Key once they are paired.
Unpairing Devices 1. Right-click on the Bluetooth™ de vice and select on “P air de vice”. 2. Enter a P ass K ey when ask ed. Note: The Pass Key on both de vices m ust be the same! Example: If De vice 1 tries to pair with De vice 2, De vice 1 will prompt f or a P ass K ey .
Microsoft ® Stac k for Bluetooth™ Microsoft ® has released Windows ® XP support for Bluetooth™ wireless technology . Support for Bluetooth™ wireless technology is av ailab le only for Windows ® XP Ser vice Pac k 1 (SP1) or later v ersions. The HID , HCRP , and DUN profiles are implemented.
