10 Introduction IOGEAR®’ s Wireless Bluetooth™ to USB Adapter is a Class 1 (for GBU321) de vice with a wireless working distance of up 330 feet (100 meters), and Class 2 (f or GBU221) de vice with a wireless working distance of up to 66 feet (20 meters).
11 Installation-Windows XP Windows XP Service Pac k 2 The Microsoft Bluetooth stack comes included with Service Pack 2 f or Windows XP . If you already have Service Pack 2 installed, y ou may choose not to install drivers from the installation CD and instead use the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.
12 Installation-Windows XP 2. If you accept the license agreement, click Next. 3. When you approach the end of the installation process, the Driver Signature Notice ma y appear .
13 Installation-Windows XP 5. Once the driver installation has completed, click Finish and REST ART your computer 6. After restar ting the computer , proceed to plug in the Bluetooth USB Adapter , and wait a f ew seconds while Windows recognizes the de vice.
14 Installation-Windows Vista Windows Vista Make sure the IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter is plugged into the computer before installing the software. Inser t the IOGEAR installation CD into your CD-R OM drive. The auto-start feature will bring up the auto pla y options for the installation CD .
15 Installation-Windows Vista A Window will bring up the fi les that are in the installation CD . Simply doub le click on the setup.e x e fi le to start the dr iv er installation.
16 The Driver Signature Notice ma y appear before getting into the installation windo w . Simply click Install this driver softw are anywa y to proceed with the installation. 4. Installation window will be brought up and simply click Ne xt to begin the driver installation.
17 If you accept the agreement, clic k Next. 6. Choose your destination f older to be installed to , and then click Ne xt. 7. Installation-Windows Vista.
18 Click Ne xt to being the installation. 8. Once installation has completed, click Finish and REST ART your computer . After restar ting the computer , the IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter will be recognized and will function correctly .
19 Initial Bluetooth™ Confi guration Wizard Now double clic k the Bluetooth™ icon in the system tra y . This will star t the “Initial Bluetooth- Confi guration Wizard. ” 1. Once the Initial Bluetooth™ Confi guration Wizard has star ted, clic k Next.
20 Initial Bluetooth™ Confi guration Wizard Next, enter a unique name f or this computer . This name will be display ed to other Blue- tooth™ devices . Select a computer type from the drop-down menu and clic k Next. 3. Click Next to confi gure the services this computer will offer to other Bluetooth™ devices .
21 Choose the services that this computer will offer to other Bluetooth™ de vices by placing a check in the bo x. T o display the proper ties, clic k on the confi gure button. Click Next to proceed. 5. At this point, Windows will install the software necessary for the services you selected.

23 Uninstall Drivers Windows XP Service P ack 2 1. First, unplug the IOGEAR USB Bluetooth adapter from your computer 2. Go to Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel) 3. Click on Add or Remov e Programs 4. Click on IOGEAR Bluetooth Software and clic k on [Remove] 5.
24 Installation-Mac OS X Installation – MA C OS X Use of the IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter requires MAC OS X v10.3.9 or later . There is no need to install any additional drivers , as Apple provides all required Bluetooth drivers under MA C OS X v10.3.9.
25 T o begin setting up your Bluetooth device , select the Devices tab and clic k on Set Up New Device . 3. Installation-Mac OS X This will initiate the Bluetooth Setup Assistant; click Continue to proceed.
26 Installation-Mac OS X On this window , you can select what type of Bluetooth device y ou want to setup . Please make y our choice below and then click Continue. 5. Y our computer will search Bluetooth devices in your area and displa y them under the window below .
27 Double-clic k on the IOGEAR ® Bluetooth ™ iconin the system tra y . 1. Connect to a Cellular Phone How to connect to a Cellular Phone (Bluetooth Enabled) Next, clic k on Search for de vices in range . As illustrated below , the Bluetooth-enabled cell phone is detected.
28 In the case of Nokia phones, you can tak e full advantage of your Bluetooth phone by using the Nokia PC Suite software. Please check www .nokia.com to see the version of the software supported by your Nokia phone . Once you hav e the Nokia PC Suite software installed on your system, please proceed with the instructions below .
29 Right-click on the Bluetooth TM icon in the system tra y and select Add a Bluetooth Device . 1. For Window Vista Make sure to set y our Bluetooth cellular phone in “disco verab le” mode and check the box as sho wn on the picture.
30 Connect to a Cellular Phone Y our computer will search for all the Bluetooth devices in y our area and list them. Select the desired cellular phone, and click Ne xt.
31 Please consult the user manual f or your cellular phone to see if you need a passk ey to pair/establish a connection. 4. Connect to a cellular phone.
32 Y our Bluetooth cellular phone will then connect to the IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter . T o fi nish the process, simply clic k Finish. 5. Connect to a Cellular Phone.
33 How to Connect to Network Access (Bluetooth - Enab led Computer) Connect to Network Access Double-clic k on the IOGEAR Bluetooth Icon in the system tra y . 1. Next, clic k on Search for de vices in range . As illustrated below , the Bluetooth-enabled computer is found.
34 Double clic k on the device to displa y a list of its services. T o establish a network connection, right click on Network Access and select Connect to Network Access P oint. 3. Connect to Network Access When the connection is being established, you will be prompted to accept/deny the connection on your other computer .
35 Once you estab lish the connection, the Network Access icon will turn green and say “Connected. ” Y our device will be able to share its Internet connection (if the device has Internet access) and fi les . If a passke y has been set by either de vice, the passk ey is required to connect both Bluetooth™ enabled devices .
36 Connect to Network Access Right-click on the Bluetooth TM icon in the system tra y and select Join a P ersonal Area Network. 1. For Window Vista Click Add to add a ne w network device.
37 Connect to Network Access Make sure to set y our Bluetooth enabled computer in “disco verab le” mode and check the box as sho wn on the picture. 3. Y our computer will search for all the Bluetooth devices in y our area and list them. Select the desired computer , and click Ne xt.
38 Connect to Network Access Decide if you use a passk ey to add your device . Then click Ne xt to proceed. 5. When the connection is being established, you will be prompted to accept/deny the connection on your other computer . T o allow access, click on the message .
39 Connect to Network Access Enter the passke y that you hav e created or provided by the wizard to confi rm the con- nection. 7. Y our Bluetooth enabled computer will then connect to the IOGEAR Bluetooth adapter . T o fi nish the process, simply clic k Finish.
40 Connect to Network Access When you return to the Bluetooth P ersonal Area Network Device windo w by right-clicking on the Bluetooth TM icon in the system tra y and select Join a P ersonal Area Network, now you can see the connection that has been established.
41 A Bluetooth connection is shown when you open Computer from the star t menu. Now your de vice will be able to share its internet connection, printers, and fi les. (Make sure the desired share options’ checkbox es are check ed under Bluetooth setting by right- clicking on the Bluetooth TM icon in the system tra y .
42 How to connect to a Bluetooth ™ Enabled Printer Double-clic k on the IOGEAR ® Bluetooth™ icon in the system tra y . 1. Connect to a Printer Next doub le click on “ Find Bluetooth™ Devices ”.
43 Double clic k on the printer you wish to connect to . 3. Connect to a Printer Click OK to install the printer . If y our printer is already installed, the printer proper ties window will appear .

52 Windows XP Service P ack 2 - Bluetooth Stac k If you are running Windows XP with Service P ack 2, you ma y use the Bluetooth drivers provided by Microsoft. Keep in mind, ho we ver , that this Bluetooth stack has limited Bluetooth profi les support.
53 4. T o connect with your Bluetooth device , simply right-click on the Bluetooth icon on the tra ybar and select Add a Bluetooth Device . 3. Optionally , you can fi nd this in Control P anel > Bluetooth Devices .
