14 Inte r-T el ® Model 8662 Endpoint User Guide BASIC FEATURES A NSWERING C ALLS Y our endpoint may be preset to automatica lly answer intercom (internal) calls using the Auto Answer feature (see below). After disabling Auto Answer , you can answer calls using your handset or headset.

This allows the subscriber to speak and listen to you while on the active call.

Placing Calls On Hold When you place a call on hold, the held party hears musi c on hold or silence, depend- ing on your system configuration.

Instant messages do not display on the endpoint and are not indicated by the Message Indicator lamp or LCD.

However, you can have a mailbox that does not correspond to an extension (for agents or other personnel who do not have a permanent office).
