8 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual The Intellinav system gives you many ways of looking at the map. Y ou can see your current position, view any of the turns on a route, or pan the map to view other areas. Y ou can zoom in and out, and find information about specific locations.
9 Intellinav 3 3D Map View Y ou can change the perspective of the map display to 3D or bird’ s eye view . To change to 3D view: 1. T ap Menu . The Main Menu appears. 2. T ap Settings . The Settings screen appears. 3. T ap Display Options . The Display Option screen appears.
10 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual From the Information screen you have several options: Set Start Location Set Stopover (with an existing route) Set Destination Save This Location Information Setting the location as a starting point is useful if you are trying to find the distance between two locations.
11 Intellinav 3 Y ou can set a destination with the Intellinav system many differ ent ways. Once you have set a destination, you can add a detour or a stopover . The Intellinav system also offers an Itinerary featur e, where you can enter up to 100 destinations and use the Itinerary screen to r e-order destinations as you like.

15 Intellinav 3 Using a Point of Interest (POI) as a Destination There ar e over 6 million points of interest that you can select as a destination. Generally , you choose a category and then choose one of four methods of selecting the specific point of interest.

17 Intellinav 3 To select from all POIs in a region or State: 1. T ap List All . The Enter POI Name screen appears. 2. T ap the Letters to enter the name of the POI. 18 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Using a Recent Destination as a Destination Recent destinations are locations you have navigated to recently . Y ou can easily select one of these locations as a destination. Managing your recent destinations list is covered later in this section.

20 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Detours, Avoid Roads, and Stopovers The Detour feature will allow you to bypass a certain portion of the route starting at your pr esent position, while avoid road allows you to bypass the entir e road. Stopovers are stops you add to a trip to make prior to reaching your destination.
21 Intellinav 3 Avoid Road Once you have set a destination you can look at the list of streets and determine if you need to mark one or more as unavailable. If you mark a section as unavailable the Intellinav system will calculate a new route that avoids the section you marked.
22 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Stopover Once you have set a destination you can add a stopover . Adding a stopover does not cancel your original destination. Once you reach your stopover , you will be prompted to continue to the original destination.
23 Intellinav 3 Setting an Itinerary The Itinerary feature allows you to set multiple destinations. Y ou can add, remove, or re-or der destinations according to your needs. To set the Itinerary: 1. T ap Menu . The main menu appears. 2. T ap Itinerary .
Y ou can edit the destinations you add to your Favorites list to give them descriptive names. Y ou can also remove destinations from your favorites list. To manage your favorites list: 1. T ap Menu . The main menu appears. 2. T ap Favorites . The Favorites screen appears.
25 Intellinav 3 To access the Information screen: 1. T ap Menu . The main menu appears. 2. T ap Information . The Information screen appears. 3. Select from the following: Route List Provides detailed turn-by-turn maneuver infor mation of your current r oute.
26 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Trip Information Provides information such as average speed and distance traveled. This feature is convenient when you need to keep track of your mileage. Almanac Provides information related to the sun and the moon, based on your current geographic location.
27 Intellinav 3 T raffic pattern is a database of typical hour -by-hour traffic speeds on over 170,000 miles of primary and secondary roads acr oss major US cities.
28 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Arrival and Departure Time Calculation Using T raffic Pattern, you can calculate the arrival and departure time based on traf fic condition at certain time of day and day of week. For example, if you want to leave at certain time, you can estimate the time of arrival at your destination.
29 Intellinav 3 Parked-car Locator This feature is useful when you park your car in a lar ge open area such as inside a theme park, or on a str eet nearby a tourist attraction or shopping center . To save your parking location: 1. Press the Standby button on the top of Intellinav 3, after you have parked your car .
30 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Y ou can set many different options to customize the Intellinav system and make it work your way . These options include: Route Options Display Options Language Options Localization Options System Options Safety Options Display Options The display options give you control over the appearance of the map.

33 Intellinav 3 To set your route settings: 1. T ap Menu . The main menu appears. 2. T ap Route Options . The Route Options screen appears. 3. T ap your Method preference: Quickest , Major , Shortest , Local, Pattern or Walking . 4. T ap your Ferries preference: Include or Exclude .
To set the speed alert: a. T ap Auto . A warning appears. b. T ap Confirm to close the warning. c. T ap OK . Y ou return to the map. To set a fixed speed alert: a. T ap Fixed . b. Enter the speed you want to use as a maximum speed. c. T ap OK to set the speed.
Language Options The language options allow you to configure the following: Language TTS (T ext-to-Speech) There ar e six language settings. When you change the language, all of the screen names and contr ols will be in the selected language. To set your language settings: 1.
36 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Localization Options The localization options give you control over the settings affected by your location, including: Time Zone Daylight Savings Time Units There ar e six time zone settings, for all areas of the United States.
Screen Calibration This process ensur es that when you tap the screen, the item tapped is activated. To calibrate the screen: 1. From the Main Menu, tap on System and then System Info. 2. T ap on Calibration. 3. T ap the center of the cross as it moves around the screen.
38 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Vo l u m e To set the system sound level: 1. T ap - /+ to adjust the volume level. 2. T ap to apply the changes made. To enable tap sounds: 1. T ap the "Enable sound for tap" check box. 2. T ap to apply the changes made.
Backlight To set the screen backlight level: 1. T ap -/+ to adjust the screen backlight level. 2. T ap to apply the changes made. To set the screen backlight auto-off function: 1. T ap -/+ next to the Battery and Exter nal Power settings. Options include: Always On, after 10 seconds, after 30 seconds, after 1, 2 or 3 minutes.
40 Intellinav 3 User’ s Manual Factory Reset To perform a soft reset: 1. Hold the device securely , and then press the soft reset button on the bottom of your device. T o load the factory default setting If you still encounter problems even after soft r esetting the device, loading the factory default settings may correct the pr oblems.
To Reset the GPS: 1. Close the navigation program, if it is currently running, by tapping on Menu in the map display , and then Exit in the navigation Menu screen. 2. T ap System on the Main Menu panel. 3. T ap System Info on the System panel. 4. T ap GPS Reset and then Y es to confir m.

Shuffle Mode Each directory containing supported music files is considered a playlist. Y ou can choose to shuffle the playback sequence to play files in random order .

Full Screen Mode In Full Screen mode, image files can be viewed in a larger scale. Y ou can also change its orientation angle. To view images in Full Screen mode: 1. Search for the file you want to view . 2. T ap / to scroll thr ough all available files.
