1 Quick Setup Guide NS-DSC10A/NS-DSC10B Congratulations on your pur chase of a high-quality I nsignia product. Y our Insignia digital camera is designed for r eliable and trouble- free performance. Use this guide f or initial setup of your camera. If you have questions , see your User Guide for more inf ormation.
2 Getting to know y our camera 1 Flash 2 Self-timer lamp 3 Microphone 4 Zoom lens 5 Record mode button 6 Operation lamp 7 L CD screen 8 Zoom buttons 9 Playback mode button 10 OK/DISP button/ 4-way nav.
3 Installing batteries 1 Open the battery cover by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow . 2 Inser t two AA batteries with the positive (+) and negativ e (-) terminals matching the directions indicated inside the battery compartment. 3 Close the battery cover .
4 P ower-sa ving function T o save battery power , turn the power saving function ON so that the camera automatically turns off two minutes after the last control has been accessed.
5 Using menus Use the four-way contr ol and OK/DISP to make menu selections. T o use the Record menu 1 T urn the camera on. If the camera is not in Record mode, pr ess the Record button. 2 P ress (menu) to display the Record menu. 3 P ress up or down arrows t o select a menu item and left or right arrows to change the setting.
6 T aking pic tures 1 T urn the power on. Set your camera to Record mode by pr essing the Record button until the camera icon appears in the upper left of the LCD monitor . 2 Aim the focus area on the subject that you want to take a photo of . 3 Press the shutter butt on half-way down to focus the image .
7 Recording video clips 1 T urn the power on. 2 Press the Rec ord mode button until the movie icon appears in the upper lefthand corner of the L CD monitor . 3 Focus y our camera on the subject that you want to take. 4 Press the Shutt er button to start recording .
8 Connecting the camera to a computer with the USB cable 1 Connect the supplied USB cable to the computer’ s USB por t and turn on the camera. A confi rmation message appears on the L CD screen confi rming that a connection has been made, and then the L CD screen turns off .
