7 COOKTOP U SE Cooktop C ontrols The control knobs can be se t anywhere betw een HI and LO. Push in and turn t o setti ng. On some mode ls, the surface cooking a rea locator shows w hich element i s turne d on. Use the following chart as a guide when settin g heat levels .
8 ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conducti on and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbe d or dented bo ttoms could cause u neven heatin g and poor cooking results. ■ Determin e flatness by pl acing the straigh t edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.
9 Cookware IMPORT AN T : Do not l eave empty cookware on a hot su rface cooking area, element or surface burne r . Ideal cookware should have a fl at bottom, strai ght sides and a well-fittin g lid, a nd the materi al shoul d be of medi um-to-he avy thick ness.
10 Clock This is a 12-hour clock and does not show a.m. or p.m. To S e t : Before setting, make sure the oven and Timer ar e off. 1. Press CL OCK. 2. Press the TEMP/TIME “up” or “down” arrow pad to set the time o f day . 3. Press ST ART/ENTE R or CLOCK.

P ull o ven temp er atur e contr ol kn ob s traig ht o f f an d tur n it over . 2. Loosen the loc king screws inside t he oven temperatu re control knob.
12 BAKEWARE Hot air must be able t o circulate around food to cook evenly , so allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven wall s. Use the following c hart as a guide. Bakeware The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r esults. Follow manufacturer’ s recommendations and use the bakeware size recommended in the recipe.

14 T imed C ooking Timed Cooking allows the oven to b e set to turn on at a certain time of day , cook for a se t length of time, an d/or shut off automatical ly . Dela y start should n ot be used for foods su ch as breads and cakes bec ause they may n ot bake properly .
15 Prepare Cooktop and Storage Drawer: ■ Remove plast ic items from the cooktop be cause they may melt. ■ Remove all items fr om the storage drawer . How the Cy cle W orks IMPORT AN T : The heating and cooling of porcelain on steel in the oven may re sult in discoloring, loss of gloss, hairline cracks and poppi ng soun ds.

17 Ove n Li gh t (on some mode ls) The oven light is a standard 40-wa tt appliance bu lb. It will come on when the oven door is op en. The oven light wi ll not work during the S elf-Cleanin g cycle. On some models, w hen the oven door is closed, pr ess the manual oven light swit ch on the backguard to tu rn o n and off.
