9 Oven Timer Oper ation (KD6C8E only) The oven timer off ers you the following fea tures: 1. Time of Day 2. Automatic C ook ing 3. Minute Minder The Main Oven (only) can be controlled by the automa tic timer . When the timer control has been set f or one oven it is possible t o use the other oven manually .
10 Know y our Timer (KD6C8E only) CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ays set, before using y our co oker . SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
Elec tronic Clock & A utomatic Ov en Timer Operation (KD6C8E only) 11 SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all ov en controls are turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When swit ched on the display will show 0.
Elec tronic Clock & A utomatic Ov en Timer Operation (KD6C8E only) 12 Step 3 P ress and hold in the Cook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cook pot’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the C ook Period button still held in, set the required Cook Per io d using the “+” and “–” buttons.

When cooking Automatically the Cook P eriod can be checked at an y time simply by pressing the Cook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pressing the End Time button.
Clock/Minute Minder Operation (KD6C7E only) 15 CL OCKF A CE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. SYMBOLS A ‘Bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute M inder P e riod and will remain lit for the period set. At the end of the Minute Minder Period , the timer will emit an audible tone and the ‘Bell’ symbol will flash.
16 Clock/Minute Minder Operation (KD6C7E only) Here you can set a time period of up to 10 hours , that will coun t down. When it reaches zero , the timer will emit an audible tone. For Example: If you set 20 minutes, the audible tone will occur 20 minutes later .

20 Do not cook directly on the hob surface without a cooking utensil, as t his will result in damage to the surface of the hob. Do not use the hob as a worktop surface as damage may occur to the smooth sur face of the hob . Do not drag or slide utensils on the hob surface, as this will cause scratches in the surface of the hob.
Below are some guidelines to help you make the right choice of utensils. T o obtain a satisfac tory per formance from a cer amic hob and to avoid unnec essar y damage, we recommend the use of good quality utensils with smooth flat bases. 1. Purchasing a new pan will not necessarily mean it will have a flat base, always check bef ore buying.
Choosing Y our Utensils 22 Do not use utensils with rough bases. Do not use lightweight utensils with thin, distor ted or uneven bases . Do not use lightweight enamelled steel utensils. Do not use cast iron utensils. Do not use utensils with recessed , scrolled or ridged bases.
Grill P an and Handle 23 Grill pan handle The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan, to facilitate cleaning and storage. The handle can be either detachable from or fixed t o the pan.

T op O v en Cook er y Notes (KD6C8E and KD6C7E only) 26 The top ov en should be used to cook small quantities of food. Th e oven is designed so that the grill element operates at a r educed heat o utput, this is combined with a heating element situated underneath the floor of the oven.
Main Oven C ookery Notes The oven is fitt ed with wirework shelf suppor ts and two rod she lves . T o heat the oven turn the knob clock wise, selecting the require temperature between 80° C (176°F) and 230°C (450°F) as rec ommended in the temperature chart.

‘S’ SL OW setting (90˚C) This is used for slow c ook ing, k eeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. Extra care should be taken when warming bone china, as i t may be damaged in a hot oven. Adv antages of “SL OW” cook ing are: The oven sta ys cleaner because there is less splashing.
1. Plastic or nylon pads 2. Household abrasive po wders and scourers. These may scr atch the sur face. 3. Oven chemical cleaners, aerosols and oven pads . Caustic cleaners such as these will etch the surface and attack the metal frame. 4. Bath and sink cleaners may mark the surface.
Models KD6C8E and KD6C7E only: The shelf supports are removable and dishwasher saf e. T o remov e hold the support at the front and pull away from the ov en side, this can then be cleaned in a sink or a dishwasher . When remov ed it allows access to the oven side , which can be cleaned with warm soapy water .
Remove the grill pan and the wire grid food support, it is best to wash these items immediately after each use to prevent stains fr om being burnt on when used again. Wipe out the Grill compartment, use a fine steel wool soap pad t o remove stubborn stains from the grill roof and the floor of the compartment.
Car e and Cleaning 34 Take particular care not to damage the inner sur face of the door inner glass that is c oated with a heat reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pads, or abrasi ve po wder , which will scratch the glass . Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to any sharp mechanical blows.
C ook ing Results Not Satisfac tory? 35 Problem Grilling Uneven cooking front to back Ensure that the grill pan is positioned centrally belo w the grill element. Uneven cooking front to back T op Oven Baking (Models KD6C8E and KD6C7E only) Ensure the cooking utensil is at least 4ins from the front of the shelf .
Problem 36 Something Wr ong with your C ooker? Before contacting your near est S ervice Centr e/Installer , check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wr ong with your cooker . If you find that the timer display is blank, then it is likely that there is no electricity supply to your oven.
