1 About IE–ModeConverter Th e IE–ModeCo nvert er is a pure mode conv erter th at conv erts any f iber optics typ e to any other fib er optics type. This product i s a Protocol in dependent converter an d is not intended for applications that requir e retiming or any Layer 2 functio ns.
2 Install ing the IE–Mod eConver ter The IE–ModeConver ter installs anywhere as a standalone , table-top device or on a DIN rail. As a stan dalone device, install it in locations w ith limited s pace. If multiple connections are required, u se an IE-PowerTray/18 e nclosure, (s old separately).
3 Powering the IE–Mod eConver ter The IE –ModeConver ter requ ires an extern al DC po wer source and has three powerin g optio ns: • Universal AC power ada pter with count ry specific clip (n ot include d with module only version). • User supplied LPS D C power via a f our-positio n DC power block.
4 Cascading DC Power If installing m ultiple IE–M odeConverters on a DIN rail, you can use one DC input source and then cascade fr om one DC terminal blo ck to the next, until re aching the maximu m electrica l current avai lable.
