Read This Befor e Installing Thermostat IMPORT ANT 1 Read the entire installation section of this Owner’ s Manual thoroughly before you begin to install or operate your Hunter Thermostat. • Remove the mylar label from the display window . INST ALLA TION 2 All installation is normally performed at your thermostat.
TEMPERA TURE RANGE 6 Y our thermostat can be programmed between 40°F and 95°F (5°C and 35°C). However , it will display room temperatur es from 32°F to 99°F (0°C to 37°C). POWER F AILURE 7 Whenever the main power is interrupted or fails, the battery power retains the pr ograms and current time.

10-11 Installation ■ Each wire coming fr om the wall to the existing thermostat is connected to a terminal point on that thermostat. Each of these terminal points is usually marked with a code letter as shown in T able A on page 9.

12-13 Installation NOTE: If your thermostat has one wire marked R or RH (4-wire system), then leave the jumper wire between the RH and RC terminals. Otherwise, if you have separate RH and RC wires (5-wire system), then remove the jumper wire between the RH and RC terminals.
Snap open the wallplate from your thermostat by pr essing the release tab on the bottom of the thermostat. Position wallplate on wall and pull existing wires thr ough large opening. Then level for appearance. Mark holes for plastic anchors provided if existing holes do not line up with Hunter Thermostat holes.
14-15 Installation Connect Wir es and Mount Thermostat Cover to W all Plate Selector Switches The heating system selector and the F°/C° selector switches are located on the Printed Circuit Boar d. ■ Heating system selector The heating system selector is a switch on the Printed Circuit Boar d on the inside of the thermostat.
FIGURE 3 FIGURE 4 ■ Be sure to tighten the terminal scr ews securely , otherwise a loose wire could cause operational problems with your system or thermostat. ■ Push excess wire back into hole to pr event interference with mounting of the thermostat cover .
Pr ogramming ■ 68° indicates the current setting of the thermostat. ■ If pressed for mor e than 2 seconds, you will adjust the set- ting as explained below . 68 F TEMP SET TEMP FIL TER LO BA T HOLD HEA T COOL ■ 69° is current r oom temperature.
In this example we are raising the curr ent set temperature of 68°F to a new setting of 72°F . Setting New T emperatur e ■ Press arr ow to display current temperature setting.
Operations 72 . 7I . 70 . The Hunter Digital Thermostat measures and stor es the amount of time the heating or air conditioning system operated. After 500 hours of usage, the word “FIL TER” will appear and flash on the display , reminding you to check or replace your system filter .
Note: Filter button works only when “FIL TER” is displayed on the display . If Filter button is pressed when “FIL TER” is not displayed, the inter nal counter will not reset. Y our thermostat is pre-programmed at the factory to cycle when the temperature rises 1° above or 1° below the temperatur e setting.
