4 1 • G e t t i n g R e a d y T o install a ceiling fan, b e sure you can do the following: • Locate the ceiling joist or othe r suitable suppo rt in ceiling. • Drill holes for and install wo od screws . • Identif y and connect electrical wires.
5 2 • I n s t a l l i n g t h e C e i l i n g P l a t e CAUT I ON: T o avoid possible elec trical shock, b efore installing your fan, disconnect the p ower by t urning o ff the cir cuit breakers to t he outlet b ox and asso ciated wall swit ch lo cation.

7 fsdf sdf 4 • W i r i n g t h e Fa n Wire Nut All wiring must b e in accordance wi th national and loc al elec trical code s and ANSI/NFP A 70-1999. If you a re unfamiliar with wir ing, use a qua lified elec trician. W all switches are not included.

Note: It is recommended you use a magnetic tip screwdriver for the following steps. 5-1. Rot ate t he hanger ball s o the tab in the canopy is secure in the hanger ball groove.

11 7-5. T o attach the lower switch housing, connec t the upper plug connector from the motor to t he lower plug connector in the lower switch housing assembly . Note: Both plug connec tors ar e p olarized and will only fit t ogether one way . Make sure the connectors ar e p roperly aligned before connecting them.
