2 The sound pulses are transmit ted at various frequencies depending on the application. V er y high frequencies (455kHz) are used for greatest definition but the operating depth is limited. High frequencies (200kHz) are c ommonly used on consumer sonar and pro vide a good balance between depth performance and resolution.

Sonar View Sonar View presents a historical log of sonar r eturns. Depth is always displayed. Readouts for temperature and speed are aut omatically displayed if the appropriate accessory is connected.
12 Bott om Presentation As the boat moves, the unit c harts the changes in depth on the display to create a pr ofile of the Bott om Contour . The type of bot tom can be determined from the return charted on the display . A Hard Bott om such as compacted sedimen t or flat rock appears as a thinner line acr oss the display .
14 Sonar Zoom View Sonar Zoom View increases the displayed resolution t o separate sonar returns that are very close together , such as those caused by fish suspended close to the bot tom or within structure. In Z oom View , the display is split to show a narrow slice of the full range view on the right and the zoomed view on the left.
Big Digits View Big Digits View provides digital data in a large, eas y-to-see format. Depth is always displayed. Readouts for temperature, speed and T riplog information are displayed aut omatically if the appropriate accessory is connected to the s ystem.
Side Beam View Side Beam View shows sonar information from both the left and righ t 90 ° 455 kHz beams and the 200 kHz down-looking beam in one view . The top por tion of the display presents a historical log of sonar returns from the 200 kHz down-looking sonar .
Bird’ s Eye View (with optional-purchase GPS receiver) Bird's Eye View - This view is only available if you have purc hased and connected a GPS Receiver , and shows a 3-D perspective view of the track and the chart’ s land contour from a poin t above and behind the boat (the eye point).
22 Combo View (with optional-purchase GPS receiver) Combo View - This view is only available if you have purc hased and connected a GPS Receiver , and is displayed as a split screen, with Chart View on the left and Sonar View on the right side of the screen.
24 Nearest Current Station: Current information f or the nearest current station to your pr esent position will be displayed. This includes the position of the station and the current changes f or today .

28 Create a route: From the Rout es submenu, select Create and press the RIGHT Cursor k ey . A Route Edit screen will be displayed with an empty route. Y ou can name the r oute, add waypoints to the route from the list of all waypoin ts, and order the waypoints in the r oute using the Cursor ke ys.
30 VIEW Key The VIEW key is used to cycle through all av ailable views. Press the VIEW key to advance to the ne xt view . Repeatedly pressing VIEW cycles through all views available. Views can be hidden to optimize the syst em to your fishing requirements (see Views Menu T ab ).
32 GOT O Key If the Cursor is active, pressing the GO T O key while in any view creat es a waypoint and starts navigation towards that waypoint. If the Cursor is not active, pressing the GO T O key displays the list of waypoin ts, so that you can select the waypoint towards which you want t o navigate.
34 Press the MENU key twice for the Main Menu, then use the 4-W A Y Cursor LEFT or RIGHT key t o select a tab, and use the DOWN or UP key t o select a specific menu item under that tab, then use the LEFT or RIGHT keys again to c hange a menu set ting.
36 NOTE: T o get the full benefit of the Simulator , it is important to select Simulator manually from the Start-Up Options menu as opposed t o let ting the Fishing System en ter Simulator aut omatically (as it will if a transducer is not connected and you do nothing during power up).
38 PC Connect (with PC Connect Cable only) Use PC Connect to update the sof tware of the 7 00 Series™ contr ol head. This feature requir es the use of the PC Connect Cable. 40 Side (WideSide® transducer: WideSide® view only) Side sets which transducer beam from the WideSide® T ransducer is shown in the WideSide® View .
42 Upper Range (Advanced: Sonar , Split Sonar , Big Digits and Circular Flasher views only) Upper Range sets the shallowest depth range that will be displayed on the Sonar , Split Sonar, Big Digits and Circular Flasher Views.
44 Side Beam Range (WideSide® transducer: WideSide® view only) Side Beam Range sets the deepest range that will be displayed in the WideSide® View .
46 Bott om Lock (Sonar Zoom view only) Bott om Lock changes the mode of the Z oomed view in the Sonar Zoom View . Bottom Loc k continuously graphs the bot tom at a constant point on the display regardless of c hanges in depth. This "flatt ens" out the bot tom con tour , but is effective at showing fish on or near the bot tom.
W a ypoint [Name] (Only with an active cursor on a waypoint) W aypoint [Name] allows you to view the W aypoints submenu for the waypoint under your cursor .
50 Sav e Current R oute (only when Navigating) Save Current Route allows you t o save the current r oute being displayed. This menu choice will only appear when you are currently navigating a rout e. T o Sa v e C urr en t R oute: 1. Highlight Save Current Rout e on the Navigation X -Press TM menu.
52 W a ypoint [Name] (Most recently- created waypoint) W aypoint [Name] allows you to view the waypoints submenu f or the most recently created waypoint. NOTE : Y ou must have pressed the MARK k ey at least once since you last powered up the fishfinder for this menu choice t o appear .
54 Sonar Menu T ab Press the MENU key twice to access the Main Menu S ystem and then press the RIGHT Cursor key t o select the Sonar tab. NOTE: Menu c hoices will vary depending on system set tings such as whether the unit is set for Advanced User mode or what transducer is currently selected.
56 Fish ID+ TM Fish ID+ TM uses advanced signal processing to int erpret sonar returns, and will display a Fish S ymbol when very selective requirements are met. When a fish is detected, a fish icon and its depth are displayed abo ve the return that has been classified as being a fish.
58 Zoom Width Zoom Width adjusts the width of the Z oom window on the Sonar Zoom View . T o c hang e the Z oom Width Set ting: 1. Highlight Z oom Width on the Sonar main menu. 2. Use the LEFT or RIGHT 4-W A Y Cursor Control k eys to c hange the Zoom Width set ting .
60 Depth Lines (Advanced) Depth Lines divide the display into four equal sections which ar e separated by three horizon tal depth lines. The depth of each line is displayed along the depth scale.
62 Noise Filter (Advanced) Noise Filter adjusts the sonar Noise Filter to limit in terference on the display from sources suc h as your boat engine, turbulence, or other sonar devices. The Noise Filter menu choice is available when User Mode is set to Advanced (see Setup Menu T ab: User Mode ).
64 Navig ation Menu T ab (with optional-purchase GPS receiver) Press the MENU key twice to access the Main Menu S ystem, then press the RIGHT cursor key to select the Navigation tab . NOTE: The Navigation menu tab will only appear if you have an optional-purchase GPS receiver c onnected.

72 Chart Detail Level Chart Detail Level allows you to select how much chart detail you want displayed on the Navigation Views. Basic shows land areas , ports, obstructions and restricted areas. Navigation shows nav aids, landmarks , ferryways and navigation routes in addition to the Basic information.
74 Set Map Offset (Advanced) Set Map Offset allows you to change the map of fset used by the 700 Series™. The Set Map Offset menu choice is only available when User Mode is set to Adv anced (see Setup Menu T ab: User Mode ). NOTE: The Map Offset will be applied t o all maps and not just the map that requires the correction.
76 Depth Alarm Depth Alarm sounds when the depth becomes equal to or less than the menu set ting. T o c hang e the Depth Alarm set ting: 1. Highlight Depth Alarm on the Alarms main menu. 2. Use the LEFT or RIGHT 4-WA Y Cursor Control k eys to change the Depth Alarm set ting .
78 Off Course Alarm Off Course Alarm sounds when the boat has moved too far of f course based on the menu set ting when navigating. Off Course Alarm allows you to set how far the boat is allowed to move of f course befor e the Off Course Alarm will sound.
80 Setup Menu T ab From any view , press the MENU key twice to access the tabbed Main Menu System, then press the RIGHT cursor k ey until the Setup tab is selected. NOTE: Menu choices will vary depending on system set tings such as whether the unit is set for Advanced User mode and what accessories are at tached to the unit.
82 Units - Speed (with T emp/Speed or optional-purchase GPS receiver) Units - Speed selects the units of measure for speed-relat ed readouts, and will appear in the menu if a T emp/ Speed Accessory is connected and the paddlewheel has moved at least once, or if an optional-purchase GPS Receiver is c onnected.
