First, check that: 1 You’re running either Windows 2000/XP/Vista for a PC or O S X for a Mac. 2 Your computer meets or exc eeds the minimum operating requir ements for your operating system.
1 metre Warning: To avoid interfer ence to the wireless signal, plac e the router at least one metre away from electrical devices. The D100 router can be placed horizontally or vertically. Placing it higher or near a window can help improve its range.
Get set. 1 2 3 4 IMPORT ANT Please keep the plastic card your SIM came with. It c ontains your 3 mobile number and SIM number which you’ll need later. Your router is only compatible with Huawei Mobile Broadband USB Modems from 3 , such as the E220, E160G and E169.
Go. 1 Power On/Off 2 1 Simply insert your 3 USB modem into the router , as shown. 2 Insert the power cable into the router and press the power button, as shown. Warning: Use only the compatible power adapter , otherwise the device may be damaged. Connect your 3 USB modem into the router 7 0820801 D100 UG.
NOTE The SSID ( name of the wir eless network ) and the network key (security password for the wir eless network) will be displayed on a sticker on your router. If you choose to change them, please keep a note of the changes as you will need this information to connect additional computers.
1 On the Apple Mac, click the AirPort icon on the menu bar then click Turn AirPort On . 2 Click the AirPort icon once ag ain and click on the SSID (name of the wireless network) as shown on the router. 3 Enter the network key (security password for the wir eless network) as shown on the router and click OK .
Connecting using a ca bl e. If you don’t want to connect wirelessly, you c an also connect your computer to your router using an ethernet cable. 1 Simply plug your ethernet cable into your PC, then connect to your router. Connect to a PC using an ethernet c able 10 0820801 D100 UG.
Why you may want to peek into your router settings. The router contains many settings that can be used to change the security level of the wireless connection or even turn off the wireless feature altogether. By turning off the wir eless connection it is still possible to connect to the web via the ethernet connection.
4 To change the S SID (name of the wireless network), on the left menu click Adv anced Settings > WLAN Settings > WL AN Basic Settings . In Name (S SID ) , enter a new S SID (Name of the wireless network) and click Apply . At this point you will be automatically disconnected from the router.
Frequentl y as ked qu estions. Why is the WLAN (Wireless) speed of my router slower than expected? Check for devices / objects that may be blocking the signal such as other wireless devices (telephones for e xample), any electrical cabling or large structures in the home like brick walls etc.
How do I change the Encryption mode of my wireless r outer? The 3 D100 Router supports many congur ations for wi- security. We do not recommend that you change your router’s security settings. If you want to make changes, log in to the Router Management Interface , go to Advanced Settings > WLAN Settings > WLAN Advanced Settings .
How do I check the signal strength of the 3 network on my router? Login to the Router Management Interfac e. You will notice ve icons in the top right corner of the page. 3UK : the signal indicator for when roaming outside of the UK. SIM: informs you that the modem has detected the SIM card.
I am connected t o the router, but I have no access to the internet. This could be down to the SIM that you have in your modem. If the SIM has a PIN number set, the router will not connect to the Internet until you have entered the PIN number in the management Interfac e.
Error c odes. The SIM card has not been detected or is invalid > Your SIM has not been inserted into the USB modem correctly. > You have not entered the PIN in the management Interfac e. No networks found > Connect to the router using the supplied ethernet cable.
Incorrect passwor d > You have entered the wrong password when logging into the Management Interfac e. The default passwords are ‘admin’ and ‘user’. > Reset the router to factory settings to reset any forgotten passwords. Modem non existent > Your USB modem is not compatible with the router.
