2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is included with the monitor. If an other cord is used, u se only a power source a nd connectio n appropr iate for this monitor . For infor mation on t he correc t power c ord set to use with th e monitor, r efer to the Power Cord Set Requirements on page 18 .
● Install the monitor n ear an outlet that you can easily reach. Discon nect the monitor by gras ping the plug firmly and pullin g i t from the outlet.
3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the mon itor, computer system, and other attached devices, then follow the instructions below. Extending the Monitor Stand 1. Lift the monitor fro m its box and place it face down on a flat surface.

Connecting the Cables 1. Place the monitor in a convenient, well- ventilated l ocation near the computer. 2. Connect one end o f the DisplayPort signal cable to the DisplayPort conne ctor on the side o f the monitor and the other end to th e DisplayPort co nnector on the compu ter.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the e quipment: Do not disable the power cord g rounding plug. T he grou nding plug is an i m portant safety feature. Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed ) electric al outlet that is easily a ccessible at all times.
Turning on the Monitor 1. Press the power but ton on the comput er to turn it on. 2. Press the power button on the front of the monitor to turn it on. CAUTION: Burn-in image damage may occur on monitors that displa y the same static image on screen for a prolon ged period of time .
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that comes with the monitor co ntains files you can insta ll on the computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .ICM (Ima ge Color Ma tching) file ● additional software for the monitor model NOTE: If the monito r does not include a CD, the .
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you determi ne that you nee d to update, you ca n instal l the .INF and .ICM files from th e CD or download them. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM files on the computer from the CD: 1. Insert the CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.
