Getting Started 1 Basic setup Y our computer is designed for use in a bu siness setting. The instructions pro vided here are general guidelines. Contact you r network administrator if you ha ve additional questions about your computer or your company netw ork.

T o turn off the computer: 1. Sav e your work, and close all programs. 2. Click Start , click T urn Off Computer , and then click Tu r n O f f .
Basic s etup Getting Started 5 Automa tic lo gon The factory setting for the computer is automatic logon. ✎ Only the network administrator can change automatic logon properties. W ith automatic logon, the Log On to W indows dialog box is b ypassed, which brings you directly to the W indo ws desktop.
6 Getting Started Basic s etup The computer may hav e the follo wing networking features: ■ Modem ■ Local area network (LAN) ■ W ireless local area network (WLAN) If you plan to connect the computer to a home off ice LAN or WLAN, refer to the HP Mobile Thin Client reference guides on the W eb for information on networking.

Getting Started 1 7 T roubleshooting The computer is unable to start up If the computer does not turn on when yo u press the power b utton, adequate po wer may not be av ailable to the computer .
18 G e t t i n g S t a r t e d T roubleshooting The computer is unusuall y w arm It is normal for the computer to feel warm to the touch while it is in use. But if the computer feels unusually warm, it may be ov erheating because a vent is block ed. If you suspect that the computer is ov erheatin g, allow the computer to cool to room temperature.
