Monitoring and Replacing Ink Cartridges Replacing an Ink Cartridge When an ink cartridge’s ink level is getting low, the printer sends a message indicating that the ink cartridge needs to be replaced soon. Y ou can also check the ink levels of all the ink cartridges to determine if an ink cartridge needs to be replaced.

Maintaining and Replacing Printheads If you notice a decline in print quality, such as lines or dots missing from printed text or gr aphics, it does not mean that your ink cartridges have low ink levels. It may be an indication that your printheads need to be cleaned.
