Security The H P EWS screens that appear, and the settings on them , vary ac cording to how you gain access to the HP EWS — as a gene ral use r, an IT administr ator, or a serv ice provider . To control access to the HP EWS screens, set a passwor d on the Secu rity page.

HP Driver Deplo yment Utility The HP Driver Dep loyment U tility (DDU) wa s create d to si mplify the deploym ent of prin ter d rivers on to a cli ent compu ter. It is a simple utility that pa ckage s the pr inter-dr iver f iles, and th e code needed to deploy them, into 2 fil es: an .
Instal l and run the DDU Install the DD U Copy th e files t o the adm inistrative c omputer. If using the self-ex tracting .E XE file, just copy it to the adminis trative comp uter, then double c lick – it will expan d the files i nto the proper direc tory st ructure .

Install Type — Silently preload the dr iver is th e option t o select for u sers that w ill be using a direct connec tion, like a USB cab le. A future Plug and Play event will be necessa ry to insta ll the pr inter dr iver, but all the fi les will be i nstalled in the Windows d river store by this pa ckage for futur e use.
