17 Preface This owner’ s guide describes how to use your HP V ISUALIZE P-Class (A6034) or X-Class (A1280) P ersonal W orkstation. It is intended for the P ersonal W orkstation user who wants to: • Set up the W orkstation for the first time. • Configure the W orkstation.

Shut down your P ersonal W orkstation and connect the HP multimedia keyboard to the P ersonal W orkstation.
Chapter 1 35 Using Y our P ersonal Workstation Using Y our Multimedia Keyboar d NO TE When you connect the keyboard jack to the rear of the P ersonal W orkstation, the Personal W orkstation’s internal speaker is deactivated. Y ou can then connect a headset or speakers to the rear of the multimedia keyboard to get sound.

Y our keyboard’s Euro symbol key can only be used with Operating Systems and applications that support this feature.

Setting a User P assword A user password can only be set if an administrator password has already been set using the Setup program. Set a user password to provide a power -on password prompt.

Chapter 1 45 Using Y our P ersonal Workstation Connecting SCSI Accessories While SE SCSI devices will work when attached to connector 1 or 2, this will limit all devices to single-ended mode. F or example, this would result in the Ultra 160/m hard disk drive performance being limited from 160 MB/second to 40 MB/second.
