7 – Remove the plastic covering and foam end cap s. 8 – Remove the ta pes from the window and the spindl e. Remove also the small bag of desicc ant material.
13 – Raise the bin into it s correct pos ition. Raise the bin unti l the l arge pins align wi th th eir slot s and the bin drop s into place. 1 – From the red document a tion p ackage (the “ inst allation p ack ” ) remove: – The Fron t-Panel ov erlay , for use in the next s tep.
The set-up printheads are provided to protect the ink syste m while the printer is being transport ed from the factory , and to fill up th e ink tubes i nside the printer when it is first ini ti alized. They must be replaced by act ive (normal) print heads when the printer ’ s tubes have filled with ink.
4 – Slide the new roll of p aper on to the spindle. Make sure t he orient ation of the p aper is loa ded exactly as shown. If i t is not, remove t he roll, turn it through 180 degrees ver tically a nd slide it back on to the spindl e. 5 – Put the removable stop on to the upper end of the spindle, and pus h it down as far as it will go.
NOTE: An internal HP JetDirect Print Serv er may already be installed i n your pr inter , inside the comp artment at t he top lef t rear of th e printer . If it is, skip to step 8 below . 1 – Before inst alling a card, switch off the printe r and unplug it from the mains electricity supply .
